Avoid your cat? Sounds like someone's idea of a sick joke.
Someone told my niece that she shouldn't eat pepperoni when pregnant.
It's a wonder any of us were born.

Check this link for info on how to avoid the known dangers.

Don't avoid your cat. I have two cats and loved on them just as much as I did before pregnancy. Just avoid changing the cat-litter. I had my husband do it for me. I just mentioned to my doc that I had cats and she did an extra test for toxoplasmosis when I had other routine blood tests done. She even said I didn't need to avoid my cats.

My cat was my only comfort during most of my pregnancy. He slept curled around my belly, he would come and lay on my lap and purr the baby to sleep when he was kicky. My cat kept me sane during a very insane period in my life.

Pretty much the only issue would be, as Sera said, the poop box. Get someone else to do it and you good to go.

Yea, the only thing to avoid cat-wise is the litter box.

Oh, dear. You have been getting all kinds of advice!

Give your cat some love, and give your hubby kitty-doodie duty!:)

what ^she said. I'm NOT going to even try to spell out the word of the sickness that pregnant women could get from cat poo, but it is serious. just get hubby to clean the poo poo box.
