ok, from what ive been told, shwag seeds can grow, beatuiful, hi potency herb. was i told wrong? i have a HUGE jar of seeds, and im gonna grow from them. will it work?? please note. not all the seeds are from schwag weed, and im going to do multiple plants from them, to get the best one, and keep it.

You were told wrong, seeds will produce the same product as their parents, and in this case dirt weed and probly riddled with hermaphrodites.Unless you are familar with a specific strain, you wont be able to tell till in flower whether a particular plant will be worth a shit. You apparently have a couple worthless grow books and need to get a real one.

i didnt get it from a book. how do i tell if the seeds are good, does the color have anything to do with it? (as i have stated before im really new, and have read few grow guides)

EDIT: even if it is shwag, its free.

bump edit: am i wrong??? to me, a broke ass ....chronic is chronic. besides i dont bring good kind buds to partys, unless theres like 4 people.

The weed you grow from "bag" seeds, if properly grown/dryed/cured will be better than the weed in the bag,
Because commercial weed is grown for high yield and hardiness rather than potency. And after harvest it gets mistreated (usually pressed into bricks).
    However
    it will never be chronic.
It will be sorta like putting leather upholstery in a Pinto.

My suggestion: do as much as you can to get seeds from good weed. Ask your friends (and then tell them the plants died or something so they won't know you're growing).
    Read read read grow books.
And then read my thread on outdoor guerilla growing here in the outdoor section.

    sure you can
the 1st one is a mex. sat cxame from some dirt weed [IMG]

sec is an indy from some other dirt weed[IMG]

this was my 1st hydro grow
the mex picture for picture and everything else were almost twins form a grow report a grower gave on another site and he paid $80usd form a top seed company.
you got to start somewhere!so why not start with bagseed before you buy seeds, make your mistakes and learn then jump into the big gene pool on the net.

I'm growing from schwag seed. Dirt weed, brick weed, whatever uwanna call it. The only, and I meant the only drawback, is increased hermaphrodite rate. Dirt weed is all you can get where i live, unless you like blowing $60 on skimpy eighths of KB that tastes like sex feels, but only gets you as high as the schwag. I don't want to mailorder seeds because I can't spend the money, but I don't mind so much because of all the variety that bagseed guarantees. Ironically, the grass I will grow could easily be sold here for $60 1/8 after a proper cure. Seeds and bad curing is what makes schwag. Otherwise there would only be "commercial" and "boutique".

Right now my deeler has this compacted light green indoor, and he says no seeds so far, but I really hope he can find a few, cuz the shit smells like a citrus bouquet. Any seed is good seed, imho.

I mean, If i had the means, with all the different varieties of shwag that comes in I could start a breeding program and in a couple years have my own strain. Right?

This is my bag seed grow 5 weeks into flower so far. My first experiment, basically a control, using MG soil and fert. So it could have come out better.

I grew from bagseed for twenty years, and got some damn good results. Words to take to heart: Ye reap what ye sow" so the better quality weed youc an get seeds from, the better your weed will be. you CAN get decent weed from dirtweed also, because most dirtweed tastes like that because it was picked, poorly dried with the hot sun beating down on it, and then pressed into bricks before it was cured. Also it is probably a few years old, not fresh. The fresher it is, the better quality it is.

You can also spend all that time and effort and grow a huge pile of garbage. My buddy grew the biggest pot plants I ever saw in my life, and they had HUGE buds on them... but it was absolute trash. No crystals whatsoever, and terrible raspy rope flavor. :) Remember... ye reap what ye sow. ;)

I tended to look for bagseed from some flavorful good smelling weed first, and then compact hard buds, if I could not find anything that tasted good to grow. Keep an eye out for male flowers, though honestly that was never much of a problem for me after I got a timer. (essential)

Good luck. The main thing is to get growin'. Screw the dope dealers... grow your own.

The main thing is definitely screw the dealers...

give your money to breeders instead.

It's a cool alchemy, taking dog turds and turning them into shiny green nuggets in months...

dudes! The breeders try to convince us that growing is for the pros and the average grower can't get a decent crop with out spending big bucks, RIGHT?!

Wrong! Check out my gallery, all are from bag seed. Like all plants (before humans domesticated them) they grow wild just about anywhere on earth!

My advice is don't spend alot until you get comfortable with growing.

^^^Yup, unless of course you're used to smoking $$ genetics. I've never smoked a name strain (that I know of), but when I do start growing them, I will still be a seed depository for many shwag smokers i know.

Genetics are great i've smoked a bunch. But I feel that bagseed growing is an inexpensive way to learn to grow.

most schwag comes from mexico.....the growers have such large plantations they can mis hermaphrodites when killing males.....one hermaphrodite can ruin a crop of herb.

if you grow it right it WILL become chron......it will be low grade chron but ive grown sinsemilla from sacks from juarez.

i live on the border of mexico man so i see this shit come in alot if you dont have a male to fuck up your female, the female buds will keep producing THC.

when a plant gets pollinated it starts wasting energy to produce seeds and not THC.

you bud wont be no kush but you can get a one hitter quiter from a schag seed

Got to contradict you on one point there. :) Weed keeps right on producing THC pollinated or not. Some of the best weed I ever had was seeded. You just lose out on yield, and maybe some smoking qualities may be a little different. I agree totally though that you can find a good strain in bagseed. I have also seen some damn fine Mexican reefer over the years. Mexican ain't always a bad thing, just depends on the grower. We used to get some great brickweed back east. Not always, but it happens. ;) Peace....

I've smoked kick-ass weed that was seeded.
Most of the high-potency Columbian Gold of the 70's was seeded. You could smoke 1/3 of a J of that and forget where you are.
And once I was breaking up a Thai stick and a fat brown seed fell out, and Thai stick was so potent you could barely walk after a few hits.
