:D I have just moved to this new variant of the hip forums. Are all you 'old' guys here?:pist, oregonmed, meangreen, geckopelli, medicinalhydro, tyedye etc. etc.??
Have been growing in the outdoor garden the plant I call 'Ruderalis' and pollinated only one lower branch. That was about two weeks ago. Seeds are all over that branch!! How long to wait before harvesting those seeds? In other words, how long does it take for seeds to become mature. Anyone knows? Thanks.

Hello, it will take about three weeks. As soon as you hear them rattling in the pods. You can take them. Why Ruderalis? That stuff has no potency and causes the plant to auto flower in the veggative stage. tc gm714

I always pollinate at 2-3 weeks in flower and let em go till harvest as they I have found they typically need 4-5 weeks to fully mature.Allow seeds to cure as wellfor a couple months as fresh seed germ ratios tend to be extremely low.

Thanks meangreen! Now I have some guidance. To answer the ruderalis comment of GreenMonster714:potency is the same as most other variants! potency relates to the amount of trichomes per given quantity of plant material. The ruderalis has practically NONE on the leaves but the flower pistils are just as filled with it as others. The flower pistils are small however. Thus, when I harvest a given quantity I remove practically all the leaves, dry the rest thoroughly and then pulverize the flowers over a common window screen. What remains on the screen makes 'good' smoke and I mix it with other medium to good quality smoke, whereas what has fallen thru the screen, a fine and powdery material, is close in potency to some hash and I enjoy as a good dream that lasts 2 to 3 hours

I've elaborated on my ruderalis experiment in other postings but they might be stuck in the old format. The main reason to use them is that they grow low and really don't look much like a typical marijuana plant, they begin producing flowers early on (autoflowering) and can keep you supplied with quality buzz with much less effort then the growing cycle(s) of your better known varieties.

Good to see ya made it over here with the rest of us b1v2w3.

Glad to hear your current grow is doing nicely. My current grow is on the thread "new setup" if ya wanna check out some insane indoor organics.

AND Yeah, what meangreen said, although i find sativa can take even longer ,especially the thai- also afghani; although an indica variety, can take ten to 12 weeks to flower, The Afghani seeds can take 5-8 weeks to get fully mature.
Ruderalis should be on the lighter end of the scale, being of northern climactic origin. The ruderalis seeds should mature like indicas, in about 4 to 6 weeks.
