In your area it would grow fine I imagine as long as you arent near snow. Only buy seeds from sagewisdom.org. from Daniel Seibert. There are a shitload of fake seeds on ebay and salvia divinorum seeds are extremely rare compared to many other sage plants. I havent grown it, but after extensive reading it doesnt seem that difficult. As far as it being worth the effort. The benefit is "getting to know your plant" before you smoke it..... I dont think i'd get much enjoyment from that. I get more from buying good Salvia and flying through the cosmos...... Making it is a hassle.
It does snows in PA. But I bet with the right stuff, you could grow it in doors. As far as seeds, how about just buying a plant instead? A little bit easier if you ask me. Advantage I would say would be having a possible long term supply if it is ever out lawed.
it might be easy, but only if you have the perfect setup, with perfect humidity and lighting, and proper watering. it sensitive as hell if you put it in the wrong conditions and over watering. i'm on my 4th plant, and it each time i overlook one thing and it seems to mess it up. my plant that i have no was growing, i mean actually fucking growing. from nothing to a set of leaves every 1.5 weeks approximately. when it was time to water, i put a little bit too much water and the leaves are browning now and the new ones stopped growing. but...if you have a very humid area (80 and up), proper lighting, and don't over water it, it will grow very fast and big. the best is if you have a hydroponic system. it will grow crazy fast. check out www.salviasource.org , it's a great community for salvia cultivaters. there's a good amount of info on the web period though. hope this helped. DON'T OVERWATER!!!!
I was just thinkin, hydro salvia could be a very potent product when extracted if it causes it to produce more salvinorin A. Anyone know?
I was thinking about growing: buying seedlings, cloning and potting indoors over the winter, then planting them outside in the spring. The only problem is I'm an apartment resident, not a land owner. I live in a rural area, but land is usually aquired in 1000s of acres at a time, vs. 1/2 acre that I'd like. Any ideas on how to legally rent 1/4-1/2 acre (0.1-0.2 hectares) or so in the US?
