Ok well i know theres a section of the marijuana forums about growing but id rather have it here since im here alot more and appreciate all of your opinions in here.

How do i get started? What will i need? How big of a space? And will it smell like weed in my house because of it?

I do live with my parents and i just wanted to grow in my room like in the closet. I wanna keep it as simple as possible but still have a decent turnout. My dad wouldnt care infact hes helping me grow outdoors next year. But i know my mom wouldnt like it but she'll never know because she doesnt go in my room ever. So discuss.....

and also what do you think of this bong im considering buying its all bamboo and apparently bamboo bongs make for a better smoking experience and are also quite healthy and i just like the way they look.

1 its a very pretty bong, and if you buy a few fake flowes and turn the bowl away, its a vase and easy to hide.

2 find a local grow store. talk to them about growing vegetables indoors, because your soil outside is crappy, or to save money on groceries. obviously don't talk about weed, but ask about herbs like basil/ oregano etc. you can get an aero garden, but maybe use different tablets than the ones they come with.
the smell can be overpowering. theres this plastic liner stuff you can line the inside of your area with and the doorway that will cut down on wafting. i can't think of the name right now. maybe invest in a fan to keep the air moving. just talk to the grow store.

this is the one im talking about in colorado, but where do you live? you have to find a local one

You don't need to as all the questions in this thread have been asked before and have been answered. Just search that forum for what you want.

    Hey Smoking420Buddha,

Hopefully I can help you answer some of your questions. First of all I would suggest doing some research by yourself. There’s a lot of stuff on the internet you can look up, or purchase books. There are also a lot of very knowledgeable people in the growing section of this site. I bought Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible by Jorge Cervantes and it's answered pretty much all my questions on growing. Let me ask you how big is this closet would you say? I will need that information to determine if it is of a sufficient size to grow. I grow in my closet, but it is fairly large so it definitely is possible to grow in a closet.

To start your grow room, your going to first need some source of light. I use fluorescent lights to start with and then I switch to metal halide lights for the flowering stage. I have heard some people have some success with using just fluorescent lights for both seedling, vegetative, and flowering, but the quantity and quality of cannabis you get from using metal halide for the flowering stage is better. You can purchase the fluorescent lights pretty much anywhere and you’re going to need the size of the floor to determine the amount of light needed. Generally the rule of thumb is 2000 lumens per sq. ft. Metal Halide on the other hand are kind of expensive, but well worth the investment. Like previous posters have said you can get them from eBay, Craig list, local grow shops, various online sites. Next you need some type of substrate to plant your cannabis in. I use Fox Farms soil, it's very good and I've had really good success using it. Big thing to remember is ventilation, more so especially since your growing in a closet. You’re going to need a fan or something to help air move around in the space. It is going to be very hard to pull this off if your mom is not cool with it. The smell is very bad during the flowering period. Without a carbon filter, I don't see how anyone else in the house couldn't smell it. Carbon filters are expensive, but they are worth it. I got one for free from a close friend, but again check Amazon, eBay, Craig list, any online sight or home depot like store will have them. If you use a carbon filter the smell will decrease a lot. Look up a grow guide for more specific information than I provided, I didn't want to make an already lengthy post into a longer one. Growing cannabis is a truly unique and beautiful experience, I wish you the best of luck with your grow op.
