How can I make my hair grow fast? My hair grows terribly slow. And is it possible to put dreads in yourself? my friends don't want to help me and I cant afford a professional.

It can't be too difficult, if all these stupid hippies can manage it. :) Surely there's some info online.

there's not alot that's gonna make your hair grow faster, you'll hear everything from birth control pills crushed up in shampoo to taking pre-natal vitamins, but it all depends on you really. Start taking a multi-vitamin, and maybe vitamin E, that's good for hair and nails.

As far as dreads go, I'm no expert, but just stop brushing and using conditioner, the dreads will come. If it were me, I'd stay away from wax, but alot of people swear by it, so it's up to you again.

    good luck :0)

I know all about dreads, I used to have them but I took them out. And I'm gonna get them again I'm just wondering if its possible to do yourself. As for neglecting your hair to get dreads I dont like that idea you could end up with one huge dread!!! Yuck!

Nothing can speed up your hair growing. Just have a good diet, take good care of your hair and get it trimmed regulary so you don't get split ends. This will keep your hair in good conditition as it grows.Split ends make your hair shorter so don't forget that trim!!

This lady at the hair cutting place gave me this shampoo that made my hair a whole lot thicker and I think it grew a little better. I'm not kidding. I have like super thin balding old man hair, kind of... and it actually got thicker... :D I was so happy. I could hardly make a pony tail without being laughed at... :(

Anyway, it's called Nioxin Bionutrients...it's really awesome... a little expensive... but just use one bottle and you'll be fine for a while.

You can dread your hair yourself dear... its a pain in the ass and your arm will ache for days afterward... but I dreaded most of my head myself... use the knotty boy instructions they help a ton!

Yeah, you can dread your hair yourself...but I wouldn't try it. I basically did the front and sides of my hair myself...and my boyfriend did the back for me (it took us 14 hours all together). I think if you attempt to do the back of your head yourself...your dreads could come out pretty lopsided...'cause you'll be pulling them in directions they shouldn't be lying in, in order to backcomb and stuff. Really...I would suggest that you beg someone to help you...at least in the back.
