I've always had alot of vaginal discharge since I hit puberty, just the usual milky sorta stuff....and was always told it was normal.

But lately I've noticed that it has changed into a really gross...almost snot-like texture.

Do I have an infection? Is this normal? Am I not washing right?

It's totally gross, so sorry if I made anyone lose their lunch, I've just been kinda worried.

    Thanks for any replies!!!!!!

    Peace and Love

Are you sexually active? Is it itchy? Does it smell funny?

Yeah, these are symptons that you could have an infection (not to freak you out). I had vaginitis once. I went to Planned Parenthood (before I had health insurance) and they gave me something to take care of it and within a week it was gone. It's better to get checked out early because it could be minor now but it could lead to something worse (PID).
OR...is it snot-like all the time or just for a short period of your cycle? If there are no other symptons (like itching, smelly, burning) and it just happens once a month, I know that when I am ovulating, my discharge tends to look snot-like.
Anyway good luck, and take care of yourself!

Well, how long has this been going on? I mean, has the texture just recently changed? Is it stringy, such as resembling egg whites? You possibly could be ovulating if it's like that. Many women experience vaginal disharge matching that description during the time she is most fertile.

Either way, if you're having other symptoms such as itching or burning, you need to see a doctor to rule out any possible infection.

    Take care hon...

A change in something like that should always be dealt with, as far as I'm concerned. If your discharge is always the same and suddenly it's different, you may want to consider going to the doctor, or at least talking to a pharmacist. It could be a yeast infection (if it's itchy, possibly having a weird smell) or another kind of infection. Good luck!

Thank you all soooo much for your replies! It means alot to me to get feedback.

I'm not sexually active, it doesn't smell, and it doesn't burn. It is actually exactly like the egg white description....so perhaps I am ovulating. I'm still deciding whether or not to get it checked out.

    Thanks again!

    Peace and Love

snotlike... you mean mucousy, kindof sticky, stretches easily? I get that way for a few days each month, I figure it's just my body being my body.
