I just had the MOST productive grocery shopping day!! I am so thrilled about the state of my pantry. I bought: -bananas -white grapefruit -green apples -red and yellow bell peppers -carrots -corn -raspberry jam -green beans -tofu -Hummus -whole wheat pitas -whole wheat pasta -blueberry yogurt -a huge bottle of vanilla flavoured protein powder Soo happy!
mmm awesomeness minus the tofu  wish i could have some red and yellow peppers - atleast it'd be different than the green one
Maybe we can just combine and have a super yummy pasta. I will make you like tofu if you try my pasta
I have to go grocery shopping like EVERY DAY. It happens when your fridge is only 2.4 cubic feet, but when I have money for groceries, I tend to go crazy. But god knows, my list is NEVER that healthy, lol. Last time I really went hardcore grocery shopping I came back with way more junkfood than real food. But I like my processed food too much to give it up for health reasons!
Ive become a nut about health food, really! I was looking at these organic sea salt potato chips, my mouth was watering, and I still couldnt bring myself to buy them for fear of the fat content. Sad kinda
i get a lot of foods that are dried, then i get the fresh stuff we need the day we use it. i keep a lot of barley, beans, lentils, peas, rice and pasta. it's cheap, and it goes a long way. we've got an elk in the freezer, fruit for the girls. though my happy sin is my pitas and hummus.
elk? How much elk? I am a vegetarian which is why I needed the protien powder. SO expensive though, poor little pocket book. Ive cut cheese out of my diet.
i'm a polite guy you put effort into cooking me a meal, i'll enjoy the meal no matter what it is and i'll def enjoy the company i wouldn't worry about fat contect of a bag of chips. its fine to splurge every now and then. fat gain is more to do with eating excess calories, not eating fat.
I'm great in the kitchen, but bad with lists, so I usually only do 2 days worth of shopping at a time.
cate, we've got one whole elk in our freezer. it's not the biggest elk ever, but it's beautiful and tastes wonderful.
calories come the food you eat. then you can break it down into macro-nutrients (protein, carbs, fats), and then micro-nutrients (vitamins, minerals...) ^real simplified
Satan! A calorie is a measure of how much energy is in a food. They measure it by how 1 calorie being capable of raising a certain amount of water (dunno how much)1 degree celcius. every calorie listed on the back of food is actually a kilocalorie. 1000 calories.
