i've been drinking green tea often for over two months or so, and have never had any problems, until this week. the past two times i drank green tea, immediately after i felt really nauseous.(sp? nausea..) and then threw up about 3-4 times. i also felt really hot, like when a fever is breaking.
i'm thinking it's got to be the green tea, because i didn't eat/drink anything different than any other day. and it was directly after finishing the tea that i got sick.

has this happened to anyone? has anyone heard of it? and is there some sort of way to get around it? i love green tea!!! [IMG]
    thanks for any help

I've not heard of this but you can have too much of something. Sometimes our bodies will provoke a reaction because it can't cope with a large amount. Isn't it detoxing green tea? Maybe you've nothing left to detox!!! :D Stop drinking it for a while and then re-introduce it.

is it your only caffeine? Sometimes the stomach rebells. Decaf is an option, weaker tea is an option.

did you change brands/types at all? Green tea isn't all that regulated so some types are differant than others. Maybe try mixing a good quality with mint... so yummy, and mint is good for the belly

Ive drank upwards of 16 cups of STRONG green tea in a day with no ill effects. As mentioned above some are better than others, some to me are quite discusting. I'd say change brands and check back!

thanks so much for all the advice, i've stopped for a while, i'll try introducing it slowly. it is also the only caffeine i'm getting but i'll try changing brands, and maybe adding some mint ;)
eliah, i doubt it's having too much, on average i have it about 4/5 times a week, so i don't think it's that. anyways thank you for all the help, i'll post after trying this stuff.

try it as dilute iced tea....
I get some odd reactions to various herbals as a hot tea, reintroduce as midlingly strong iced and all goes well.

okay, i just wanted to let you all know, the things that helped:
changing brand to something that was not only green tea but a mix - with vitamin c in it and echilia thingy :p
also drinking it less hot, and drinking it quickly.
thank you all for your help!! :)
