The Beatles definately weren't that great. Jazz is nice too. I got a jazz version of Marley. Haha. Led Zeppelin, Phish, The Wailers, Grateful Dead, yeah those are some great bands.

 

Pink Floyd isn't my favorite band but I think that musically and lyrically they are among the greatest. Along with Led Zeppelin. But the greatest band to me personally is Weezer, with Dream Theater and The Cranberries right behind them.

 

You know I' am really surprised no one has mentioned the metal masters.....BLACK SABBATH!!! Traffic is a good band. Steve Winwood was supposed to play a concert in my town but someone in his family died. YES is a good band, progressive rock. Frank Zappa is awesome, he had the greatest musicial mind in the 20th century. Iron Maiden, fucking rocks!

I Dont really dig that Heavy metal Stuff to much, but i like some of black sabbaths songs, What about Bruce springstein, Steve miller band, Hmmm Who elese......Neil young is good tunes,Grateful dead, (Jerry Garcia) Amazing song writer , performer, Rolling Stones ????

so subjective is the world of music, can anything be named 'the greatest'? Your favorites, yes, and some artists have had more influence, but the 'greatest'?

blah, blah, blah.............whatever

Classical, with all the time changes, movements, intricacies, nuances

Cream, Hendrix, Zep, Beatles, Stones -- all still popular today for a REASON

so many greats, I can't pick a greatest.........

 

music is to my ears as music does, but the lady is right, Chinese gospel punk simply rocks!

 

SRVs Texas Flood Album came out in '83, anything after Couldn't Stand The Weather wasn't all as good as they turned to a more 80s sound after the addition of a keyboard player to double trouble.

 

I'd have to say that my favorite music artist would have to be Janis Joplin!!! She was one of a kind like everyone should be.
