I need your help! would this sentence look like this: "and I would prefer to get any classes that fit into my schedule now; so I do not have to worry about scheduling conflicts down the road." or "..and I would prefer to get any classes that fit into my schedule now, so I do not have to worry about scheduling conflicts down the road." do i use a comma or a semicolon?
comma you aren't starting the sentence with and are you...if you can show the whole sentence i might be able to help more...but definitely a comma NOT a semi colon. semi colon starts a separate but complete thought
How about- "To avoid future scheduling conflicts I would prefer to get classes that fit into my schedule now." What is your schedule now? Your current class schedule? How about "To avoid any future scheduling conflicts I would prefer to get classes that fit into my current schedule".
Or better- To avoid any future scheduling conflicts I would prefer to get classes that fit into my current class schedule.
Either: "and I would prefer to get any classes that fit into my schedule now, so I do not have to worry about scheduling conflicts down the road." or "..and I would prefer to get any classes that fit into my schedule now; so, I do not have to worry about scheduling conflicts down the road." A semicolon can be used with conjunctions, but there is no real reason to in a case like this. But I'd go with KevinH's suggestion, really.
basically this is what i sent Hello, My name is Your Mom. I will be entering WSU though the AEP program this Spring. I'm starting fresh and I noticed GEOS 325 does not have any pre-reqs but at the bottom states previous enrollment of natural science lab. I will be enrolling in GEOS 120 and BIOL 241 which are both lab classes. So the question I'm asking is would it be possible for me to register for this class now? I see it is an every other year class and to avoid future scheduling conflicts I would prefer to get classes that fit into my schedule now. . Thank you for taking the time to read my email and have a great day. Your Mom

I hope I do! There are a lot of natural resources in this area to make geology a very fun learning experience.. The area I live in a very geologically unique part of midwest.. and for that matter the whole US... I live in a part of the midwest known as "The Driftless Area" which to sum it up means that the last glacial movement missed this area of the midwest(it covers mostly se minnesota, ne iowa, western wisconsin, and a bit of nw illinois).. nothing geologically is really known about the area pre-illinoian era.. when they figure the area was formed.. so there is no boulders and such(aka glacial drift).. land is mainly limestone and covered in spring fed streams.. that's why i can fly fish in January.. it can be 5F.. and the stream is not froze over because the spring water flows out at a constant 47F... sorry kinda went off there.. more than you probably wanted to know about the driftless area
