gottt my new dreads! opinions??

First post here!!! I'm so excited!
I was definitely creepin on this forum to get information ... so here's what I did

I have 7 dreads interwoven with my natural hair, and extensions on a couple of em...

What do ya think!

Your obviously not a girl, mmg is a prick. If you have been reading on this forum, you should have read about all the different ways to obtain locks. Why did you choose to do what you did?

 

What is a dream perm anyway? I never really understood that.

Well I did what I did because my "lions mane" hairdo has been such a heavy part of me for so long... I asked alot of input from tons of people and many many said "I wish there was a way you could have both"... And walla!

@Sarah Again. Basically a dread perm is just what it sounds like... your hair is back combed, and then undergoes a chemical process which "perms" it up. I really considered going neglect, but for me... neglect is a really spiritual path and something that takes true dedication. I just wanted to have artistic fun with my hair!

As for doing my head as dreads... I'm def. considering it, my main problem is the $$$ it would cost if im not gonna do it neglect :0

 

The reason I didn't do a "dread set" (such as dread head hq or w.e.) is a few people i know who have dreads from all types of ways (neglect, permed, doing the sets) advised against it... reason being is it just takes a lot of time for dreads that may or may not look good, and you don't really get much out of it. That definitly might not be everyone elses experience with it, but I figured i'd just cough up the money haha

 

I like it, personally I think if you did anything with your hair you would still be gorgeous. I say give the full dreaded head a chance. I'm pretty sure most people on her would like to see your whole head dreaded up.


I say backcomb! or neglect.
Plus dreads are awesome....they're like a travel pillow.

I like what you have but apparently you haven't been reading around here. No one here would recommend a dread perm or the stupid kits. Either do twist and rip or backcomb, both are free.

 

Ya, I like what you have too. It's just the idea of a dread perm or buying anything other then like....non residue shampoo puts me off. TO each their own though, you're a babe. Rock that hair style.

 

I know, I can easily admit that I was skeptical about it... but i mean, I'm so happy with the results, that I can't really hate on it now.
