True... but in that interview with his nephew (from like 10 years old ), he said that Roger stays in his room a lot and seems to just lie in bed. He also mentioned his music collection... which really doesn't exist. He said that Roger has a small turntable, a couple classical records, and nothing else. That's sad considering how much he liked psychedelia back in the day. I guess he had a pretty good collection.
Yeah, I think that's true... Did you now that for a brief time after the Floyd, Syd played with Twink, the drummer from the band Tomorrow? I think that's pretty interesting. I think they called themselves "STARS" or something.
It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here And I'm much obliged to you for making it clear that I'm not here. And I never knew the moon could be so big And I never knew the moon could be so blue And I'm grateful that you threw away my old shoes And brought me here instead dressed in red And I'm wondering who could be writing this song. I don't care if the sun don't shine And I don't care if nothing is mine And I don't care if I'm nervous with you I'll do my loving in the winter. And the sea isn't green And I love the Queen And what exactly is a dream And what exactly is a joke.
No, they didn't (as far as I know). I think they just rehearsed a few times, got a gig set up, and then Syd never showed up. I think that was pretty much the extent of it.
Okay, now I must tell of this great moment I had of Floyd prowess. It was a week or so ago, and I was sitting in a pizza shop with my friend and her boyfriend, who works there. Another friend came in, and a conversation began about him looking for a certain Pink Floyd song he had heard while intoxicated that we was particularly impressed by and wanted to remember, but didn't know enough of it to identify. He started to describe it by saying, "it says something about like . . .a hill...or something . . ." And I immediately said, "Oh, is it Fearless? From Meddle, number 4 I think? You say the hill's too steep to climb, climb it, you say you'd like to see me try . . .etc." Everyone was like, how the fuck did you KNOW that? Haha, I felt rather good about that.
