I notice that my Google + page has 118,529 views, and the count has jumped by almost 1,000 in the past two days alone. What gives, and why could my page be receiving so many views? Has anyone else noticed this with their Google + profile? Where would the traffic be coming from?

i never would have guessed that you would be a google+ user.

i'm not one, so i have no idea what this could all be about.

 

good luck finding a profile on me - even my name is off the net....even though I have very public e mail (in my sig)
even with google you are in charge of what you make public - if you are willing to take the time to adjust it

 

Somehow I have one and I'm pretty sure I never set it up.

Google just figured I needed one.

I think I got one when I set up a gmail account or used Google Play. Nothing much on it though. I know you can Google+ articles etc. I don't.

i have had the same thought about my journal entry on hipforums.

Your PM (not email) was replied to. The information you thought you had was not accurate. Yes there is some public information about oldwolf on hipforums but the trail does not lead to my name ,nor my current address - though you can get NM out of that .
If you were real good at searching you would come up with scads of information, but most would be just like your guesses and not accurate in personal details.
Now the government is a different matter - so if you're a hacker too, all my personal information can be had.

 

^when you actually think about everything google does is copied from what has been done before .. not hating at all thats just the way it seems to me

 

even with an actual IP address (which isn't revealed w/ the info available) .. you still can't find out much except narrow it down to an ISP and city...it IS possible for someone to pick up the telephone and make a few calls and end up scoring more info but they would need some determination, ambition and social engineering skills to do so. Plus a good reason to make it worth it to them to spend the time doing all that *.*
