umm....im in the process of building a website and i came upon this article that told me about google adsense, they put ads in your site and when someone clicks them you get like 25 cents or somethn like that.....anyone with half a brain would know that adds up......so i thought it was a good idea.....

but it seems like theirs some fineprint im missing......like its too good to be true

is this a rip off? does anyone know or has anyone ever done it?

That is true . I think you can do the same by having a google search box on your site and if someone buys something online as a result of doing so through your site , you get a kickback.

It's legit. However, I highly recomend learning a bit more about it before you add it to your site. For instance, if you click on adds in your own web site, it's considered fraud, and you can lose your account.

I have no clue. It depends on your keywords, traffic, etc.

I disagree, I prefer privately owned web sites without all those annoying Google ads all over them. Pop-up ad windows are a pain if you don't use pop-up stopper. I have never in my life clicked a Google ad on someones web site or searched something from a Google box within someones web site either.

imo, the best web sites (privately owned ones) will have no Google adverts on them, but if you want to go down this route fair enough, I just find them pointless and annoying and I completely ignore them when I see them.

I always click on these, lemme tell ya. since i run linux and sometimes OSX. there is what, less than 1% of all the viruses in the world that can infect me. its not really free anyway, not that this ad would really specify WHAT is free. but hey, there are 2 sides to the internet: (1) making money, and (2) making lots of money
