I was just wondering if anyone on here ever finds cool stuff at the Goodwill, and what is it? I haven't been in a while but I need to go. I have found a lot of cool T-shirts that are from other cities/states and I like to wear them because no one else around here has these shirts. The blue one I am wearing in these pics is one thatI got from there--- Post pics if you have any!
I like old sprtswear, stuff from the 70's and 80's. i find a lot of that there. I'll try to find a pic.
Yeah, thrift stores are cool. I get all my over shirts there, like flannel. I get alot of cool paintings there, and I'm gonna get my couch and dishes when I move out.
i love thriftstore shopping. i went to goodwill the other day, and didn't find anything cool. it's sort of hit or miss. yesterday, i went to another thriftstore and found a couple of yards of vintage fabric with neon colored mushrooms all over it for 2 bucks. i'm going to make tote bags out of it, i think.
I got my first chair at Goodwill when I moved out several years ago...I go to goodwill in just about every town I visit...I try to get tshirts from all over...My favorite find is a red tshirt with a big tree and kids hanging in that says "adoption is love"...I wear it all the time and people always ask me if i was adopted...
i buy most things at thrift stores. i found a tie-dye berkeley shirt once, but i didn't have money at the time. i have two drawers of random tshirts from thrift stores. one has a pickle on it. i have a really comfy chair i got at a thrift store too. but its at my parents cause i have nowhere to put it right now.
I have to wear a tie and blazer to school, so I go to Goodwill for cheap blazers and ties. Occasionally I'll buy other things too, like a rain coat or shirt. It's a great place.
i think the best job would be to own a thrift store...or even better--a vintage shop. that way you can just shop and buy all the great finds and have a store full of the best stuff. anyway, all of the pictures in my gallery are of me, which seems kinda vain, so i should fix that, but everything im wearing is from thrift shops (mostly ones in connecticut). who says you cant shop cheap and still look good?!
I find a lot of awsome 80's oversized sweaters and stuff there. I also found a very colourful velvet shirt, needless to say, when I wore it to school everyone thought I was nuts. Mission accomplished.
Yeah, I'm a pottery freak and find a lot of stuff at them. Here we have thrift stores that are owned by the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters. Really awesome organization. Anyways, my favorite finds were the two clay adobe homes from mexico and the big huge basket made of bent twigs.
i got a patchwork top at a thriftshop a few months back but i usually find cute t-shirts in the kids bin. i got some mushroom coffe cups at goodwill and A phatty Grateful Dead beer stein at the veterans thrift shop here.
Are you kidding me!?! I am the QUEEN of the Thrift Shops (and happily my town has a lot of them, which is about the only good thing about it). We've raised a bunch of kids largely on the thrift shop stuff (still do)---probably 95% of my kitchen stuff, and most of my past furniture and half my books, almost all of my clothes, and my old man's shirts, and well, there ya go! One of my kids (he's 16) used to hate anything from the thrift shops, now he asks to go with me to look for stuff. My daughter just scored a beautiful pine table the other day.
one of my all time favorite thrift store finds was a pair of Dr. Marten's that have an all-over pattern of flowers on the leather. it looks like the boots had been painted. i've never seen any others like them. and they were only five dollars!!!! they're all broken, too. kinda scuffed in some places. they rock! i've had them for a few years now.
Got my whole furniture and a lot of clothes there.Most of the time you don't find anything but once in a while you'll discover real treasures.Found a Porno-like blue Hugh Hefner suit,that rocked!
I love the goodwill. My boyfriend works there and some of the people he works with that know me will hide things for me so nobody else will get it. I found an awesome bed sheet there the other day. Red with orange batiked flower looking things on it.
