On 9/26 we let him rest , He had a wonderful run we rescued him in 2014 and he was 5-6 maybe, he has been a wonderful dog putting up with several fosters and whatnot, a very unassuming guy he liked to be near you but never to the point of overbearing velcro , well behaved for the most part, he was a WONDERFUL walking partner we used to do 4-5 miles a day that slowly dwindled to nothing now barely able to get up and a very unsteady gait, his mind is still pretty sharp and he still wants to be near but his body is tired and this morn for the FIRST TIME EVER he did not/could not get up for his breakfast, he has been eating less and less so we have made the gut wrenching decision to let him rest, the vet will come this eve and we will pat his old head and let his tired old body rest
Fond Farewell. You gave him a great home and he had a happy life. Sometimes whilst painful I know from first hand you have to put an animal out of its misery . He will be happy again now joining all the other loved pets in another world .
I am so sorry for your loss.... I hope you are happier now somewhat.... Pets become true family members and when they go its very hard!! God bless you
