    Listen, Christ,
You did alright in your day, I reckon -
    But that day's gone now.
They ghosted you up a swell story, too,
    Called it Bible -
    But it's dead now.
    Goodbye.
    Christ Jesus, Lord God Jehovah,
Beat it on away from here now.
Make way for a new guy with no religion at all -
    A real guy named
Marx, Communist Lenin, Peasant Stalin, Worker ME

    Cyber,

I respect your opinion. Look around, we are all radically different but we have many aspects in common. And, yes religion has been used as a front for the propogation of great destruction. But in the same character as when we heal our bodies and minds after injury there can be deception, illusion; we can often inaccurately pre-judge an aspect of our experience because of some aspect of our experience. There are so many examples of this that I don't want mislead the attention and thus trivialize it by giving an example; but given this qualification, I will. As an abstract example: a person named Pollywog who practices a certain religion lives, and is isolated, in a town of people who believe that religion is evil. Pollywog is persecuted by the people of the town and has come to believe that all people are evil. Pollywog escapes the town and is afraid of all the people she meets but because of hunger gives in to people who want to help her. They see the she is starving and afraid. They leave food for Pollywog at distance because Pollywog will not come near. Eventually one of the people, a person named Mystery, is able to get close to her and talk. Mystery finally convinces Pollywog that he will not hurt her and that it is alright to practice religion. The pivotal moment is when they overty practice together and Pollywog slowly heals. This type of story can be translated into "ten thousand" real world stories, translated into "ten thousand" real world examples.

Could it be that we, that is human beings, are in the very early stages of learning about pheonomena, truths, described in religious texts ? As "far out" as it might seem, as an example, maybe "death" is a altered state of consciousness ? Maybe senses other than the "five senses" exist and some of these senses are connected to religious experiences described in religious texts ? Can we analogize some of the avatars to great scientists in and of the misuse and misunderstanding of their words and deeds ? Are you not really focusing on an issue that, although connected to some of the principles and pheonomena described in reigious texts, is really connected to misguided and deluded use of religious text; and, more specifically, is connected to human greed and not the to the question of whether or not religion contains accurate expressions ? And isn't it the case that all to often those who have been persecuted become persecutors ?

    Peace,
