I tend to watch a lot of movies, considering I don't have cable or tv or anything. So I've kinda of started compiling a list of my favorites. Maybe you guys could add some of your own. Ive omitted a lot of my original favorites, I started a new list with a new frame of mind. À tout de suite - a french foreign film, good luck finding it. The Big Lebowski - I saw this once on a recommendation from a friend, good and akward Gattica - more serious flick, not sure why I like this one, but I do. Maybe its just the lure of being someone your not. Boondock Saits - Action with a purpose The Crow - movies in which the main actor died are always popular. Why is that? I think some of the soul goes into the film. Broken Flowers - Not sure why I like this one either, but I was compelled to at it to the list, so here it is! Humbolt County - I like this one for so many reasons, I dont know where to begin. Memento - amazing flick with an interesting twist.
I once kept a list of my bought dvd collection as well. Of course it's neglected by now. I'm pretty big on good movies as well, although I have the occasional weird fascination for movies that are not necessarily 'good', but I just love. Like movies that fit in the stoner and spaghetti western genre . I'm (for some annoyingly) picky in these genres as well though. The big Lebowski is one my favs as well. Absolutely superb for many subtile reasons! From your list I only know Boondock saints and Memento hehe, and the Crow of course. Not among my favourites but pretty good indeed. Since I'm not from the US technically my foreign movies collection is a bit bigger , we see more french movies here as well I think. Although I'm not at all a fan of martial arts movies I'm lately pretty intrigued by the chinese wuxia movie genre of which Crouching tiger, hidden dragon is my absolute favourite. House of the flying daggers is breathtakingly awesome as well though! Yeah, I'm pretty bad at making favourites lists..
you dont have a tv? you should get one, even if just for movies. much nicer than having to watch them on a computer screen. doesnt have to be an expensive one. i suggest the holy mountain, the city of lost children, princess mononoke, and the shining
I've been meaning to watch Broken Flowers. I love Bill Murray, but everytime I see it, I picked up and move along, not sure why. I also want to watch Princess Mononoke.
i just watched eagle eye. it was decent. and then mostly stoner movies lately. just cus we've been in the mood lately. pineapple express was funny. i love seth rogen (sp?)
princess mononoke is a great movie. i think you guys would like it a lot. have you seen it john? and mojo, deepthroat has to be one of the funniest movies i've ever seen
ive never heard of princess mononoke. i will watch it. i saw the fountain, but i fell asleep. not because it was bad, i was just really fucking tired.
Ah, to many to name so I'll stick with the most recent of ones I've watched. Gran Turino Taken Milk Tropic Thunder
Into the Wild Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (I know you hate it, don't wanna hear it) Boondock Saints Super Troopers Half Baked Pulp Fiction Bongwater The Departed Etc. Etc. I watched that Humboldt County movie a couple days ago and I liked it a lot. Wasn't the "Stoner road comedy" I was thinking it to be, but it ended up really good. :cheers2:
it took me a while, but i finally finished watching tropic thunder. and i wasnt really impressed. and i loved the cast though. but it wasnt stillers best. imo
