What might make a good falafel sauce? Usually, when I have falafel (before I quit dairy) I would have it with a yummy cucumber-yogurt-garlic sauce. But now, no yogurt. I thought about trying the same thing, with plain soy yogurt, but I couldn't even find any plain soy yogurt. Any ideas or suggestions? I really like the cucumber and garlic, so if you have any way to adapt that recipe I'd be much obliged.
Well if I don't make tzakiki (cucumber/dill/yogurt) I usually use Annie's Goddess dressing, which is tahini based... it goes awesome with falafel. Seems like you should be able to find plain soy yogurt somewhere. If not maybe soy sour cream wouldn't be too bad with it... never tried it... If I don't have anything else I just use hummus for sauce, kinda an overkill on beans though
tahini, water, lemon juice, minced garlic, fresh parsely. You have to play around with the water and the tahini to get the right consistancy. Its icky if you put too much tahini and not enough water.
