    Hello all, I cant believe how long ive been away from here. Ive missed it. Im currently reading "any day now" and I love it and suggest you give it a try. Ive read "The hippie trip" and its one of my favorites as well. Before its suggested, ive already read On The Road! Lol. Im trying to constantly read so I fill my spare time with more useful activities. Somethings are better left unsaid. Any feedback would be awesome. Peace

    Have you read "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test"?

    That's a must.

    "Be Here Now" is pretty quintessential also.

    Some great titles in the Fiction section would be;
    - Drop City
    - Vineland
    - The Storyteller

    Some good Non Fiction;
    - The 60's Communes, Hippies and Beyond
    - Sweet Chaos, The Grateful Dead's American Adventures
    - Steal This Book

    A very short list of the dozens I could recommend - Good Luck and Enjoy

    Keep Reading - and Keep Living a Life worth writing about - :)

    DO IT! by Jerry Rubin was considered to be like the bible by some people back in the day and is a must read if you are interested in the counterculture movement of the 60s and early 70s.
    Wodstock Nation by Abbie Hoffman is also worth reading.

    While not specifically about the counterculture, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was written by a hippie (Ken Kesey) and it has some countercultural sentiments in regards to society.
