I agree. summertime is the BEST time to be barefoot :) I love the feeling of grass and sand.

Considering the extreme weather variations here in Minnesota, Summer's the only stable time of year one can be purely barefoot here. I Kinda wish I were in a warmer location. either that, or have feet that can adapt to as low as -30 degrees F. weather...

though there is no such thing as a season for barefooting, i must admit that summer is the best. one of the brightest sides is that bare feet gain popularity and you get way less annoyances. bare feet in summer may disappoint someone, but during winter the sight of a barefoot fellow walking over ice or cold wet pavements really scares people. they think you must be crazy, in great distress and can't even imagine that actually you feel fine. hell, i got the same reaction even when i was shod because i wore open sandals with no socks. it is not that they want to be annoying, some of them are honestly concerned about you and your welfare. (cold impresses ppl more than heat. they don't know what really means walking over black tar asphalt in full sun, going soft because of extreme heat so much that you leave toe prints on the road. also few people are impressed by barefoot sand walking when it gets really hot. walking in snow is a treat in comparison)
in summer you may even spot some other guy or gal being barefoot where it is not so 'appropriate' like in town , i mean far from the sea. although rare, i've even seen another barefooter motor cyclist , but of the biker clan :biker:, not a dirtbike hillbilly the like of me :sombrero:

Indeed. Around here, even in summer, if it is a rainy day or an overcast day, I get people asking "aren't you cold?!"

LOL. We must cope with the fact that the tenderfoot tribe has, well, tender feet. Their feet are oversensitive and need a shell just like snails. Among us and them there is some mutual misunderstanding going on :( . What i fail to understand is why this obsession just for cold and not for excess heat. between about 13:00 and 17:00 sand can get awfully hot. I myself cannot stand or walk indefinitely in deep scorching sand, but people never gives a second look to me when im on the beach. Thanks to God of course, im not asking for more obtrusive idiots questioning me about my private business. The only clue i have is that shoddies are such philistines. They were taught that you must cover up when cold or you'll get ill, period, and they stick with that.

Mom never spent a word about scorched feet, so they ignore the issue
