Do you believe that God exists in every religion? I have come to believe there is truth in all religions, and the important thing is to believe. Is there a word, or even religion that holds this belief? Also, for that rare Christian who holds this same belief, what about quotes such as "I am the way, the truth, and the light", "I am the only way to the father"? If Jesus was the only path to Heaven, how can you believe other religions hold any truth?
as long as you are talking about warm blooded people, which is not always a given when dealing with 'others'. I believe a form of God exist in every religion as long as two or more people are involved in discussing their faith. "If Jesus was the only path to Heaven, how can you believe other religions hold any truth?" Holding your belief's as THE 'truth' is like trying to hold an invisible turkey in a rifle scope. and showing it to somebody else. but You can be understanding enough of other people, the many various types of physical shape and form that their minds inhabit and the fact that most of ya'll are trained to believe in what you have been taught to be the truth. I won't go so far as to call it ..... "programming" but from a young child you are told to listen to and admire what your teachers teach- or expose you to. If you hold a grudge against others, or find the need to prove or disprove another particular path to Heaven,, then it is you who are probably on the wrong one. As long as you are willing to understand that what you currently believe as 'the right way', is probably based on what belief's you have been exposed to, or taught, then you won't have a problem understanding that billions of others have been shown a different perspective in the belief of how God would want them to carry themselves as they travel along the path that they have chosen. It's your path, it's your life. Nobody's keeping track of what you are doing, or watching every right and wrong move you make, other than yourself. You are your own God. Your mind travels where your conscience allows it to comfortably flow. Live like you are in control of your own destiny, because nobody else is.
I believe that the concept of God (not referring to a physical or otherwise existant deity, only the notion that such a deity must exist) exists in every religion, because the very existance of religion requires that a deity is recognized; otherwise, it is only spirituality or philosophy. Yes, there are other people who hold the same beliefs, though I cannot say I am one of them, or that I know the official name of such people. Some sects of Buddhism or perhaps even Unitarian Universalism probably have doctrines that say such.
If you're asking whether every religion has faith in the same god, although they describe it differently, then yes, I agree. If there is something more than just the material world, it would be available to everyone, at any time period. Not just one group, say, 2000 years ago. So everyone can contact this same essence, but due to cultural differences from place to place and time to time, they will describe it differently (really, the mystical traditions of each religion all agree, but it's the more legalistic, ritualistic and moralistic aspects of religions that differ. This is why I feel all religions are right and have truth to them in their experience of divinity, but are also wrong and false in that they each have their own view, and many claim to be the only view that is right. That's a problem with religion, they box you in and set you against the other religions, while the whole point of religion is to find peace, including between human groups). For Christians, they feel they're the only right religion and thus, in my opinion, I think that is a downside to that religion (as I said in my last section). But to me looking at Christianity as an outsider, I see Christ as an enlightened being who experienced god and tried to teach others to do so. Even when he says "no one gets to the father but through me" I can see that as maybe meaning no one becomes enlightened unless they search inwards as he did. Or it could be a later addition by church fathers. The Gospel of John (where that appears) is the last one written, some 150 years AD, so it's certainly possible.
