Which is worse? Which one should we be more concerned about?

I'm sure no one was thinking about global warming on 9/11 and I'm sure no one was thinking about terrorists when Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast. So what's the real issue? Or are both of these being played up by governments and their scientists to control us with fear? Global warming and terrorism does exist. But is it as bad as experts say, or is there really nothing to worry about?

I'm inclined to believe that global warming will be the big threat in the long run. Terrorists can bomb another building tomorrow, but global warming is something that is on going, becoming increasingly worse as time goes on. I'm also inclined to believe that I'll either be really old or dead by the time deadly effects of global warming take place and once it does....Anyway, what do you all think?

I really don't feel threatened by terrorism; I see this as a lot of scapegoating and rumour-mongering to make us pay less attention to government. Global warming is the real threat to humankind - not to the planet because it will survive with or without us for quite some time yet - and saying 'I'll be dead when disaster strikes', as so many do, seems to be a bit selfish to me...who was it who said 'we do not inherit the world from our parents, we just borrow it from our children'?

It is possible to be concerned with both.

Global Warming is much more scary than Terroism. With Terroism, we are fighting against our own kind where as natural disasters etc are unstoppable.

Well, I think terrorism is a bigger threat considering that global warming is a cycle. And we will return to an ice age at some point.

    Global Warming.

Terrorists will always exist, but can be controlled. I don't feel threatened by that at all. I'm not saying I am safe from terrorism, but I mean I don't feel that our human race is in danger because of terrorism.

However, our human race IS in danger due to global warming. Without a planet to live on, we don't live.

Global warming is happening ever so fast, and yet, there is being little to nothing done about it. That worries me.

Also, global warming is something much more difficult to control at this point...we've already done so much damage.

Personally, I don't understand what is so surprising about terrorists to everyone these days, they've ALWAYS existed. Just because they are now starting to make their way into countries that have lots of power, people are beginning to be more aware of it. But before 9/11 other countries were dealing with terrorism on the daily and nobody seemed to pay any mind to it.

I think everyone should just fucking drop what their doing and start fighting global warming...in my opinion it is the MOST IMPORTANT issue we have to face and deal with right now over anything, period.

I know all you think global warming is a huge problem, but the truth is, the earth has climate cycles. Once it heats up another 2 or 3 more degrees, the Ice caps will begin to melt, push the gulf stream south and it will be an ice age again.

(you people act like haveing an ice age will be a picnic.) I think that terrorism is not some thing you can fight. The more you fight it, the more terroists you make. Hate is nothing but ignorence. The only way to stop it is through knowledge. This will take time. We will get there if we dont blow are selfs up. As far as global warming goes, it is something that will take a lot to reverse. If we dont smarten up, it will cause devistating results. So i cant say that eather one is more imenent then the other. They are to different. But for my self i would rather fight global warming then the endless fight agenst terrorism. Oh ya and fuck bush

If the question is which am I scared of right now, which could have an effect on me right now I would go with terriorism...if I was going with what problems face our future generations then I would go with Global Warming...I feel global warming is something we should take initiative in but a bomb exploding is something much more destructive that we need to take care of right away.

Terrorism is being used to keep in power those who would do nothing about global warming.

(Semantic quandry: Is "Fear of terrorism" different than "terrorism." Is voting Repub. because one is scared of being blown up by Al Queda a result of "terrorism" or "fear of terrorism")

i agree with (MikeE). and to add to it, the biggest terrorist in this equation is George W. Bush. He has spred so much fear into our nation and has sent many poor souls to there death for his own agenda, masked by an illusion that has people still beliving in him.

Is it possible that global warming affects the worlds future and terrorism is a temporary issue?

global warming, i just had a conversation on this with a whole bunch of people a little while ago. The information i got was: the more we have people driving around.. and exposing all the carbon monoxide .. we're increasing global warming. As of right now they said a huge chunk of the polar ice-caps, the size of rhode island, fell off because the temperature of the earth is rising. If more and more keeps falling off.. it will ironically cause an ice age. I don't exactly remember how, but it has something to do with the ice falling off into the ocean and something about a warm front? It was too detailed to remember. But i also heard that over the past months.. the temperature of the water around the world has gone up by one degree, and i know what you're thinking, "one degree, what's that gonna do? " well if you think about it, this earth is made up of 75% water.. so obviously theres more water than land.. so if you think about it.. it has to take alot for all the water to go up a whole degree, considering theres so much of it. I also heard that there are certain types of animals that are starting to become endangered because global warming is occuring. Many scientists say it can occur in the next 20 - 30 years..
