These topics are going to be on our minds throughout the year. How will you cope with all this?

Quote from Steven Hawking. "In a world that is in chaos, politically, socially, and environmentally, how can the human race survive another 100 years?"

1 - Elections around the globe. 40 national elections in various countries will have a wide impact. Some say Democracy hangs in the balance. These elections will affect 41% of the world population. Vote wisely! But vote.

2 - A world on the edge. Regional conflicts and wars are at a high unseen since WWII. Keeping you on the edge are issues like over-population, rising costs leading to inflation everywhere, and ever-present concerns about the planet's ecology and sustainability all add to the geopolitical instability of the world.

3 - AI development. Artificial intelligences are becoming stronger every day, and mass fear and hysteria about the changes being wrought on our society are every present concerns. Forbes Magazine says that "Personal agents, capable of understanding natural language and executing complex tasks, are poised to become ubiquitous, transforming industries, enhancing productivity, and redefining our interactions with technology." Either you find that scary, or a blessing, it is something important to keep an eye on.

    Your thoughts?

I am just trying to keep my head above water. I just can't worry about this.

I'm sure that's by design too...

Zen, as an avid follower of international as well as local news, these things all worry me a great deal. What worries me more than anything though is a global shift to the right in political thinking.
Draconian laws to inhibit our rights to freedom of speech and protesting at injustice,
Decisions taken by governments that increase the division between the richest and poorest in our society
Support for or against wars, not based on morality, but on political and financial possible gain.
