Giving up alcohol.

  1. I'm on medication and I shouldnt be drinking. But somehow I always end up tanked on the weekends then the next day I feel like death warmed up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can give up? I'm not an alcoholic (I dont think!) but when I'm in a party mood and I'm at some party or club I just want a drink so bad! Can anyone help?

  2. he, g, naughty!. Umm, energy drinks? Not as amusing, but get loaded up on lift plus or red bulll...at least you'll have the energy to dance, lol. (though it's probabaly not great for your health :p )

or else awesome sexy vid nights.....Awwwwww, feel better.

Well, if you're in a party mood and you want something to drink, try soda. It's not as exciting as alcohol, but it's worth a try.

I drink soda, or coffee, or water...

  5. Thats a really good idea, Soph. One of the reasons I DO drink b4 clubbing is to get energy in the first place. As for it not being healthy..... do you think I should give Berocca a shot? Or is that not much better than energy drinks??

I'm an alcoholic as well. I feel your pain.
    :(

  7. don't have a clue...i just mean that (depending on your meds) a big night out and heaps of caffieney shit might not be the greatest - sleep could be a better idea.

As long as you are in a good mood and feel comfortable in the environment you are in and with the people you are with then i say drink but just not excessively, most of the warnings on these things are exaggerated anyway.

  9. hmmm yeah but you know how deluded ya get when your drinking!!
'Hmmm I'm fine I can have another drink!!'

When you feel the urge to drink, stick a joint in your mouth instead. As an added bonus, there's no hangover.

Another way to quit drinking is to repulse yourself out of it by hanging around the meanest, haggard, raging, overemotional drunks you can find . . . . like the whiskey-guzzling Irish drunks in my family. I've watched my relatives binge out and I thought, "Jesus Christ, I'm actually related to these cocksuckers? This ain't happening to me." And that's how I stopped drinking.

  11. Pots not an option, I am never going near it again, it is the reason I am on anti depressants in the first place.
But yeah Ill try and hang with bad drunks for a while, see how that idea goes. ;)

  12. That's strange, I'm on anti-depressent's too.. My doctor said I really should stop drinking, but I find myself waking up with the worst hangover again and again. I did try giving it up, but it didn't work.

Don't you find that you get drunk alot faster on medication?

  13. i have the same freaking problem but you prolly know that. :)

  14. yeah I did. I was really hoping to not drink at all last night when I went out but just before I hit the pubs I got some awfull news, so yep.... I ended up hammered. :(
