Hello. First post in the forum. Here I go... Tomorrow I have to make a speech in front of my class. The speech is supposed to be a persuasive speech and of our choice. I don't have many ideas for a speech so I was thinking about doing one about why marijuana should be legalized. Pros/cons of this? My teacher is pretty cool and probably once smoked in his life so I don't think that's a problem but I'm just wondering what some of you think. Also some sites with good info on legalization would be cool If I do decide to go through with this.

i gave a persuasive speech on hemp legalization. that's far more important than smokable-marijuana legalization, at least in terms of the long-term health of the planet.
I am not sure if it is too late at this point, but I did a similar speech in one of my classes and I added a cool little fact at the end... In the original Marihuana Act, the only company that was allowed to still possess marijuana seeds was a bird food company because "We have not found any other seed that makes the birds' feathers so smooth and sing as beautifully" Even though this is not really hard evidence for the benefits of legalization, it is still an interesting little fact.
dont get me wrong, I LOVE WEED but there is an unspoken rule. never do a school/college report/speech on the 3 D's teachers do not want to hear about drugs, drinking, or depression. worry about your grades first, go to a good college and then become a real activist. giving a speech in front of your class will do nothing for legalization, it will just out you as a pothead and you will be discriminated against.
Give a speech about how college is a capitalist scam designed to manufacture new shiny gears for their machine.
