I know, most women here are going to want to say they dress for themselves. That might be, but today that is not going to be one of the options. So the question is: Do you dress to impress guys or girls? When you squeeze into your Herve Legar bandage dress or your skinniest skinny jeans and slip on a pair of red-soled Louboutins or Jimmy Choos and head into a club, a fancy restaurant, a ball game, who are you wanting to notice you? I know who I dress for, but I will keep mum until I hear from others.
i think todays women typically dress to impress other women versus other men.. men are not hard to impress anymore but women pay attention to other women down to the exact detail.. some women uplift each other and some dont.. but i have to admit i feel better about my attire when another woman asks "hey where did u get that from"
I agree, lol. And you don't have to do much to impress a guy either. I enjoy watching women sometimes watch other women and you know they're thinking to themselves "what's she doing that I'm not" in some cases and it could be the clothes. And when another female does ask about your clothes you do feel super happy. But if a guy asks it's like "err, perv".
I truly can't say...I guess I would dress to impress other women because 1.I don't typically like the attention I get when guys look me up and down... 2.I like what's comfortable, what feels like it fits good, and I enjoy my jingly accessories. and 3. I do however, find enjoyment in the oos and ahhs from the ladies when she asks where I bought my shirt/necklace/who made it.
you said it first I get my clothes from thrift stores, I only wear them in public due to legal requirements anyway not to impress anyone.
used to dress to impress fellow peers. Then I always wanted to look good for my boyfriend. At present I just dress in particular ways to make myself feel happy or sexy or attractive etc. Its my way of making my body and soul feel loved. With all these experience I think dressing for myself has been the most rewarding. Though I do look at what women are wearing for inspiration. If I had to vote in ur poll id say id prob most def dress to impress (inspire) other girls. Though guess its gona be another matter if dating a guy is concerned as who wouldn't dress up to impress a date. Hmm guess this is why my name is mixed-peppers. Very indecisive.
its not a persons clothes that impresses .its the person wearing them. i don't dress for anyone or me.just dress in the clothes i like to wear.
I guess I should consider myself lucky. My fiancé definitely has good taste and likes to see me dressed up, but he is still clueless. He just pretty much cares about my butt and boobs and my shoes. He notices my shoes and doesn't seem to care that I spend a small fortune every month on new shoes. Nonetheless, there is no doubt that I dress for other girls far more than I do for my fiancé or other guys before I was engaged. Girls notice the whole outfit, the accessories, and details. My friends are the same way, so it's fun.
Both, I like to follow trends and dress stylishly to impress other women but I also choose clothes that show off my assets because I want men to think I have nice assets
I do not dress to impress men. Men are typically very easily pleased. Its the women I dress for, to intimidate them and steer them / invoke fear and make them shy away from men I want to be with or associated with
95% of the time i put 0% effort into how i dress, especially at work. So I dress for myself, so i have more time to play with my kiitty instead of worrying about my outfit and makeup and whatnot before I have to leave the house. I'm comfortable looking unfashionable.
l dress comfortably and am modest. When I do dress to impress, it is to tease a man. 99% of the time, the man l wanna "impress" is my husband. But most of the time I just go for comfort. l never try to impress women. I wouldn't even know how. Men are easier to please.
I think it depends on every different situation but for the most part, I would rather impress other women. most women understand fashion, what looks good, and tend to have a more discerning eye than men, at least in my experience. I've seen guys admire girls who are wearing outfits I wouldn't be seen dead in. If my guy friends criticise my clothes it doesn't bother me one bit, but the thought of my girlfriends disliking my outfit makes me wanna cry (not really but you get the jist!)
I really just dress to cover myself up, not be cold or too hot, or to cover/change something I think is physically unappealing, like a bruise I got because I fall down or my hair that looks like I have been rolling around in hay. Also, I spent the money on the clothes, shoes, etc so I better wear them. I like to alternate between my items, so it's quite satisfying when I get to the end and starting over again. So, there's that too. The situation really matters as well, not so much the people within the situation, though. Most of the time I just like being naked with the basic hygienic requirements. Of course, I say this and only have carried this out in the comfort of my own apartment. Not sure if I can do this in public. If I had the chance to I will certainly try it to see how I feel and what I think about it. But, I can't say for certain if I would be okay with it or not. I have to try it first, you know?
Neither...I dress for comfort. So I reckon I dress to impress my own body, by not squeezing it into tight jeans and shit.
Like Jo King's Mrs, I dress for occasions. I do go for comfort within that realm, and I'm a bit modest. But that is frum, not frumpy. Must admit that when I pull on a dress and do something intricate with the hair, and my partner's eyes light up, I feel good. I like seeing that slightly possessive pride. I don't date possessive types, so the glimmer is a compliment.
