Hi, i am a 19 year old guy with a 19 year old girlfriend, we used to have sex everytime we saw eachother and she used to get extremely horny! She recently had her implanon rod replaced and now her sex drive has disappeared, she said that it has happened before with her previous implanon rod but its really putting a strain on the relationship, has anyone dealt with this before and what can we do? Does anyone know of a quick working female libido enhancer that will make her libido go through the roof?

    Thanks heaps

That's common with the implanon. I didn't get it, but I got the rod to stop my period which really worked, but in some cases it doesn't work at all and can cause non stop period.

My sister also had the implanon and when she had it taken out, she was a completely changed person.

    Hormones man..

This can be a side effect to contraception methods such as the pill and implantation. this is caused by a sex hormone imbalance. Males an females have a delicate balance of sex steroids and hormones that equate to futility, pregnancy, arousal and every other condition pertaining to sexuality. The implant functions by telling the body that it is a state such as pregnant or not ready to produce an egg so that an egg is not fertilized. the problem with this in this situation is that the body is not "horny" because being horny is a chemical response to try to reproduce. According to human sexuality 4th edition (the text book in my human sexuality course). The primary hormone in this cycle is Progesterone.

Since this is a new thing there is a drastic change with her hormone levels and it should regulate with time. From personal experience with my wife, she does not respond well to chemical and hormone contraception. Her mood becomes instable, sex drive diminished, and she gains weight. I find that it is most important to support them through the adjustment and reevaluate the method being used. In this modern era that we are living in there are so many different methods that it would not be doing your relationship a justice by settling for a subpar alternative when there is a more suitable solution out there.

This is just my perspective with a little support, but the most important thing is to communicate with your partner.
