Girl Scouts

Did any of you go to girl scouts when you were young?
My 8 yr old daughter & 5 yr old grand-daughter are going to a meeting tonight to sign up for Daisy scouts & Brownies.

I did. It was fun, we had chocolate eating contests a lot.

 

I was a girl scout or was it a Brownie.. I wore a brown outfit with a sash and some orange socks...is that Girl Scout or Brownie...
it was fun whatever it was...

 

I think they will love it . I was a girl scout even before the Daisy Group was established. And I was still selling cookies to my friends as a senior in high school. (It turned out that it turned on my boyfriend too. Go figure???? I realize that is not what you want for them now. just saying no one thought less of me) Anyway...give it a try the worst that happens is its not for them and they will try something else.

 

Mystical_shroom,that was a Brownie scout...did ya earn any badges and/or sell lots of girl scout cookies?

 

Yeah, got some badges, went camping and attempted to sell cookies which i failed at miserably...

the equivalent over here is rainbows,brownies and guides.........my daughter was a rainbow leader for a few years and loved it she now works with disabled kids and loves that too

 

Ahahha.. I was a Spark when I was 6 and then a Brownie when I was 7/8.

It was generally fun, but I didn't go on the camping trip or go to the sleepovers, as the idea of those scared the hell out of me. An hour or two with those girls was all I really could manage ahha. But helllllll, did I like my badges.

Hated the cookie selling. Despised it.

 

i got kicked out of the brownies.

 

What did you do?

 

All I know is that they pester the hell out of ya every place you go in public for about two weeks straight....poof then the are gone.

Great cookies though.

i was in brownies for a year, but I left.... not a big joiner/group person I guess. I was in explorers for a year or two too, but that's cuz my cousin was in it. It was the girls youth group thing from her church (which I never went to) and we really just did crafts and mucked about, it was fun. I sitll have a rock that I painted.

 

i was a girl scout.. i hated it and loved it at times...

i was a girl scout older then most and i remember swimming with mentally retarded people and that was great. they were sooo happy.

i also had fun camping and stuff like that. and giggled a lot.

but i also remember being annoyed by some of them at times and wanting to quit... lol

 

No but I have eaten lot's of Brownies!
