Will declared void despite threat of ghostly curse by its author

    Friday, October 22, 2004

OSLO, Norway (AP) - A Norwegian's threat to haunt anyone who tampered with his will didn't hold up in - or send a chill through - a court.

The man, who wasn't identified, died in mid-2003 and left a will dividing his possessions among a long list of friends because he had no direct heirs, state radio network NRK reported Thursday.

And, to be sure that no one challenged the document, he threatened to haunt any who tampered with the document.

"I take a solemn and holy vow that, if at all possible, I will pursue you in the darkest hours of the night," he said in the will. "I warn you in the strongest possible terms not to try any nonsense."

His half-sister, who wasn't one of the beneficiaries, took her chances and challenged the will in the Haalogaland Appeals Court in the Arctic city of Tromsoe.

Apparently, the judge doesn't believe in ghosts, because he declared the will void this week since the two witnesses who signed it testified they didn't know what the document was.

There have been no reports of mysterious late night occurrences from either the half-sister or the judge.

Tromsoe, the main city in Norway's Arctic, is about 1,200 kilometres north of the capital, Oslo.

My mom once lived in a haunted house- she experienced some weird things while living there. When she was about 5, she was sitting on the steps and felt like someone was behind her leaning over her. She leaned forward and long black hair came in front like someone was leaning over behind her. Another time, she was sleeping and something tried to yank her by the arm out of bed. She looked down and nothing was there. Another time my grandma was on hold with a department store on a weekday morning after all the kids had gone to school. She saw the hem of a dress and a foot begin to descend down the stairs. She thought one of her daughters was skipping school so she went upstairs and no one was there. My aunt and uncle also experienced separate incidents with a woman with long dark hair in their bedrooms at night. She held a lantern up to my uncles face and smiled at him. My aunt saw her standing looking out a window. When my aunt gasped, the woman turned her head and looked at her, then disappeared.

I went on a ghost tour at Picton last weekend. I'm not sure if the ghost tour was rigged or not. Anyway, we went to a old railway tunnel, it was very dark and spookie. We were in the tunnel for about 20mins then a white floating cloud thing and a light apeared at the end of the tunnel. Everyone screamed and whatever it was went away..[IMG] ...
The is a site about the tunnel..

My good friend died my sophomore year of high school, and I had trouble sleeping afterward. So about 6 months after the incident, I was down in the park with some friends and all of the sudden we heard this weird noise like a really high pitched dog whistle or something like that. So we all were like what is that? So that night I was asleep and having this dream that some friends and I were in the park and that weird noise happened again. All of the sudden I sat straight up in bed and was screaming "CHAPPELL!" (That was my friends name) I was so scared and I was thrashing my arms around when I looked to the left and in the dark I could have sworn I saw him standing next to me, waving, with his hat on like he always wore. So I was swinging my arms to see if I could touch him when my mom walked in and flipped on the lights because she thought I was going crazy. I guess I'll never know if he was really there or not, but I've never heard that noise again since. I also told one of his other good friends about it, and this guy said that the same exact thing had happened to him numerous times. Weird stuff.

I too had my best friend die. She was my closest friend and I'll never have another like her. We met when I was 15 and she was 13 and she died at 18, I was 20. I even named my youngest daughter after her. Anyway, right after she died, the day of her viewing, i woke up and I was sleeping against the wall with my husband on the outside you know?? Anyway, I totally felt her there.. I knewww she was standing there and then I could smell her!! I layed there and started crying but I was terrified to look, she had died in a car accident and it was not a pretty thing. Then it drifted away but I often felt her with me throughout the weeks after her death. One night months later, when I was really struggling with her death, I had this very very vivid dream. I had lived with her for a while when I was 16 and she was 14 and 15 and I dreamed we were in her mothers old house sitting at the bar and her mother was cooking something and she was sitting next to me and we were talking, just like any other day I may have spent there. Suddenly I was totally horrified and I turned to her and grabbed her and said her name and then said to her You are dead!! And she looked at me and she was so very pretty, and she said, not as long as we're here. :) And she smiled at me. I remeber being stunned, and then turning back to her mother and then the conversation and that is what I remember of it. I have heard phychics say that the dead visit us in our dreams because we are open to them then. I believe it! But I don't think they mean us any harm :)

Apaininyourbrain~ That's really interesting, because I've also had dreams about my friend. You know how they always say that ghosts have unfinished business, well my friend comitted suicide, so I feel that that is about as unfinished as you can be. It was really random when it happened, so ever since I've had really vivid dreams when they pertain to him. I've had dreams where I run up and hug him and he says he never meant to hurt us and strange things like that. Aside from dreams though, that's the only major experience I've had when I was clearly awake. Although a few months ago I was driving down the road and I got really upset and I was shaking, sweating, and completely freaking out and I had to pull over. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, when I started listening to the song on my cd, and I realized that the lyrics in the song matched up to what I think my friend felt when he comitted suicide. It was almost as if he was telling me, "Listen to this song!" I'd never really listened to the lyrics before that. Weird stuff! I'm really sorry about your friend by the way... These things happen to the best of us.

When I lived in Baltimore with my best friends family, his mom told me her ghost stories; and they're the best I've heard so far. She used to live in New Hampshire on an old Indian battleground, and you can imagine the things she saw. She told me on almost any given night you could hear footsteps in the crushed gravel outside, the chairs in their dining room liked to slide across the room, and she'd seen a soldier dragging an indian across their yard. She'd been shoved when nobody was around, doors would slam, and her dad died in his sleep one night, and the coroner couldn't find any obvious cause of death. Her family moved out after that, but she still checked up on the house from time to time, and the last time she checked up on it, it had been bought and sold over 70 times since her family moved out. She had even been contacted by the Travel Channel because they were thinking about doing a special on it, but I don't know if they ever did.
