Music world is somewhat of a "herd mentality", but how do other artists on the forums get your music heard? Djedia - Mark
Alonetone is the best one I've found so far. http://alonetone.com All types of music in evidence, although perhaps dominated a little by the "classic rock" enthusiasts. But some nice left-field stuff finds its way through too. By putting stuff on here, you're making it available for free download, which might not suit those who only want to sell their stuff, but otherwise... to give some idea of the scope of listenership, I've had stuff downloaded by people in, apart from the obvious UK and USA, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, Hungary, Denmark, Norway, Germany, China, Poland.. even places like Niger and Iran ! Also, you can embed your tracks into websites, blogs, etc, as a cute little mp3 player...doesn't work in Hip Forums unfortunately. To give you some idea: My Alonetone page: http://alonetone.com/fsoundlab A page from my website, with embedded MP3 players - http://maliceinsunderland.weebly.com/big-bad-moth.html I also have some stuff on Soundcloud, but find it gets less attention than on Alonetone. .
Some great ideas... I have done that on my site(s), and found that unless you are on a site with a huge listener-ship - then you have a hard time being heard. The other is, the genre for New Age isn't there on most sites - so I simply put my music in either world or classical. There is one site that even lists progressive classical. Thanks for your thoughts... Djedia
