I used to wear makeup all the time and felt ugly if I didn't. I didn't wear alot, just powder and lipstick and every once in a blue moon mascara. I wear brightish lipstick since my lips tend to be pale and I don't wear blush because it reminds me of when I had acne, so I felt like the lipstick gave color to my face. Finally though, I've gotten to the point where I know I'm just as hot without it as I am with it, so I often go without now and feel like I still look great. It's a mindset, really. You just have to change the way you think about it. Mind over matter.
yes, your right, makeup makes a difference. i like to put a bit on because i want to. and your right, when i don't wear makeup, i get a second look from people because i look childlike without it (i often get asked for id which makes me laugh) so i understand where your coming from i think people look because makeup all the time, to not wear makeup is a huge difference. you just reminded me of a woman at uni who looked stunning with makeup which she wore everyday, then she was late coming to a class people were glancing at her cause she looked so different no makeup people are strange beings and cannot help themselves if you feel better not wearing makeup, don't. enjoy the freedom it gives you if you start to feel naked, go to the nearest department store beauty counter like estee lauder, get a few samples and ask to be made up natural and yes change is always a big deal, sometimes it is easier to do it one bit at a time until the goal is acheived
I want to wear less make up. All I wear is eyeliner. And I do think I'm pretty without it. My face looks a lot softer however, as the eyeliner gives my eyes a sharper pop to them. Plus since I've started giving a thought to the animals who have makeup tested on them, my choice of product has been lessened a lot. And living in a small town, it's hard to find stuff.
Oh, my point was supposed to be that I want to eventually move to the point where I just use make up as a costume sorta thing
I normally wear eyeliner whenever I go out. If I dont want to wear make up then I wear my glasses. I find I don't feel as naked if I wear glasses.
I hear you! It is such a big deal to me too! I have always wore a ton of makeup. Seriously like since 7th grade. My mom wears a ton, my aunt does and so did my grandmother. Then I had this guy tell me in 10th grade, that I need not put all that shit on my face. I felt liberated, like I wasn't going to be bound to makeup anymore. The next day, I wasn't going to wear any. Well, I felt terrible that day. It had become so much a "part of me" that I wasn't happy without it. That's pretty much where I am today. I have started to wear much, much less though. I guess, everything in baby steps and everything in it's time.
Since the 8th grade I am wearing lipstick or just lip gloss or lip balm. I like wearking mascara too now and then. I've been told I don't need to wear any make-up though. But if you really wish to forget about make-up, you could think that you will have a healthier skin in this way, because wearing make-up for too long may give you wrinkled skin later. But really, you could simply use make-up less frequently, rather than stop using it at all...
Um, what? It sounds like the issue here isn't makeup but your self esteem. Why do you want to be ignored?
I seriously doubt that people even notice if you are wearing make up, on average, unless you are painting Cleopatra-esque eyes. And that is NEGATIVE attention. I thin lace has a good question: why do you want to be ignored? and I wonder what real role a bit of bat guano has to do with that (mascara and eyeliner often has dried guano (poop) in it). You think people will look at you differently, but your post makes it sound as if no one has ever seen you w/o it.
when i'm feeling flamboyant and whatnot, i wear flamboyant makeup. i only use the bare minerals line. i love it so much. i prefer to put a little bit of SPF glow on the rest of the time. i'm getting older, i don't quite glow like i used to. it makes me feel pretty.
gl! i could never live without eyeliner. i love my eyes and they just pop when i have eyeliner on. i dont have to put makeup on, unless im leaving the house lol
