Getting 'stuck' in a trip.

Today, 3 times, people told me, if you take LSD, you can get 'stuck' in a trip for weeks, or even months. I had never heard of this so assumed it to be another anti-drug myth, but thought i'd hear your thoughts on this. Has anyone ever heard this statement before? What are the possibilities of it being true?

 

well..mostly its a myth with a slight bit of truth
no u cant get stuck in a trip from a few hits however a massive dose like a sheet or so and u can trip heavy for a month or more
but..vitimins c & b complex will end any trip

ok now having said that theres another way that u can get stuck
combining substances..lwith mental probs..and other factors

case in point ewas a kid ..damn mind went blank on his name..bi polar schitsophrentic
combined lsd and extacy (and he said 1 other thing that nobody ever heard of) and went 4 days without sleep

the combo of all these factors sent him into deep psychosis..a very trippy psychosis that showed no sign of improvement after weeks, and didnt respond to the normal trip ending treatments
but i fdoubt he was really stuck in a trip so much as his mental chemisytry as all outta whack (maybe went off his meds too)
i doubt lsd or anything was affecting him that long excepyt his own b brain chemistry that shoulda never been exposed to lsd in the 1syt place

and u have nooooo idea how much lsd ive been around all my life
i've seen crazy assed shit but never seen any1 stuck in a trip unlress they took a massive amount

oh but 1 trip can change u..thats for sure, and some ppl arent ready for the mind expantion
a trip can be fun or enlightening..crazy or a flash of insight

imagine being full of questionds doubts and worries, then taking a lil tab and realizing you already know everything, everything you do is just what your suposed todo and seeing how everything in life fits together and just knowing theres nothing to worry about cause in the end all lifeds just a beautiful trip
if in a few hours u stopped worrying and questioning and doubting..youd have changed..right? is that being stuck in a trip..or is it the trip opening the doors of perception letting in alittle light that affects the core of your being?
others may see u as still tripping bit your not, your just more aware

Yes, thankyou, it made perfect sense. I am reading "a psychedelic experience" by Timothy Leary, and that has given me great insight into what the trip is like, and prepeared me for things that might happen. I plan to re-read it a few times before my trip. I didn't expect that myth to be true, and have heard of high doses making long-lasting trips.

I have another question. I know I have asked this before, but now I have read the book have a different outlook. In the book it says for an inexperienced user, they should take 200-500ug of LSD to experience ego-death, but only 100-200 for an experienced user. It sounds like an amazing experience (ego-death) and I would love to experience it, but was only planning on taking 120ug. Should I buy another blotter and take 240ug? I only plan on tripping once and want to make the most of it. I know the ug of each blotter because the guy I am buying it from gets it in liquid form straight from the guy who makes it. So should I stick to 120ug? Will i be able to reach ego death if I am ready? Or should I take the extra one like Leary advises to reach ego-death. Btw, I know reaching ego-death is fairly unlikely to happen, and the other stages sound just as elightening, but I want to try and do everything in my power to reach ego death, but won't be dissapointed if it doesn't happen.

 

I'd definitely say that after your first acid trip the world never really becomes the same again. Not in a good or bad way (that's for you to decide), it's just slightly 'more'. I think it's just cos when you've seen what acid shows you you never really forget it, the power still lingers in you. But again, nothing to worry about, it's nothing to fear.

I see you're really interested in this ego-death. I've thought about it and to be honest I don't think it's the main emphasis in an acid trip. I mean, when I try to think about myself or, say, what I did the day before while tripping I can't recollect anything substantial, it seems distance and false. I think ego-death is a very subtle but constant factor throughout an acid trip.

If you REALLY wanna feel what it feels to be nowhere and no one at once, try and smoke Salvia.

 

well if ur saying that you will only trip once, i would up the dosage. For two reasons, 1, if u want to experience ego death and the book advises u take that dose, then i would do it. 2) if your only tripping once u will want it to be a strong enough trip. there are problems with raising the dose tho especially for a first time user. I would say 240ug is fine but its really up to u. Maybe buy the other blotter and take 1 and then later if ur feeling up to it, take the other.

You can take a sheet of acid and come down the next day, you don't trip any longer the any more you take, thats bullshit.
My dad though took LSD and speed, and he ended up having psychosis for 7 weeks, where he didn't come down and normal treatment didn't do anything. They used shock therapy on him to get him out.
Psychosis is very rare though, one of those "you have a better chance of being struck by lightning" cases.
And enough of the spiritual crap, when you come down off LSD the world is 100% back to normal, the only thing that has changed is maybe your view of yourself, some gain in insight etc.

Its not unlikely to happen...It happens and you can fight it . It will still happen for a quarter of second or so and youll come back to ego. If you know about it and let go well it will keep you in in a quite interesting way.

240 ug im sure would be more than enough. There are signs it will happen. In the book they say alot but you know , but you might start feelign very weird, like there is soemthing missing and time will seem to stop. Your body will seem to want to splatter., to dissolve. Also your visuals might have a very luminous tint. You see the light , liek they say.

For it to hhapen with like smaller doses , i believe there is a series of truth to understand and then light will shine on reality. No visuals anymore. The best thing must be having one of those moments while sober.

 

The only thing i'm worried about in taking an increased dose is 1. The higher the dose the lower the seizure threshhold and 2. Since I haven't tripped before, and have never experienced acid, I might be overwhelmed byt it's power and have a bad trip. I will have to ponder on this.

Everyone asked how I know it's exactly 120ug, I thought I already said in my post, I am getting it from a good friend, who get's it in liquid form, directly from the chemist who makes it.

 

oh...well either ya have got good contacts or he is kind of bullshitting you I don't know.

But you say you never experienced LSD...Dont think about ego loss now...There is much to discover in tripping first. Maybe it is better to go gradually and increase dosage. Once you are on lsd for the first time, you might have a better understanding of what objectively is ego loss. We all can interpret it in different ways, but there is something at the base that is a normal reaction.

Whats a seizure threshhold, are you epileptic or something?

 

Thats what i was wondering L defintaly wont give you seizures and even if you were epilectic i dont think it would increase the possibilty.

 

Who told me that when you take more LSD you don't trip longer.
No one, because thats not how drugs work. If you take 10 painkillers instead of 1, they don't last 10 times as long, your body metabolizes it, and its gone.
LSD lasts on average 8-12 hours, no more.
But since you are going to be a dick about it after this post and throw a whole "well you haven't done it so you don't know" and shit like that.
Well my friend drank a whole vial of LSD, which was equal to 1 sheet, and she tripped how many hours? If you guessed 12 you're right!

 

I kon exactly what you mean. Thats how my first trip really was. Going into it I was kinda scared of what was going to happen, but then when I satrted tripping the visuals and distortions and shit I thought I would be scared of I was jsut fascinated by and wanted more. LSD really is amazing.

 

Has anyone else realised how down this lsd forum is.....everyone keeps asking...will i get holes in my brain? will i over dose?....can i handle it? i mean just fucken eat it and have fun! stop worrying for gods sake....haha im serious...the more you have the pointier the fence will be but dont even think about that shit...doubters dont deserve acid.

 

Well, there has to be someone who gets it directly from the maker, I suppose I was just lucky in finding that person. I know alot of people that could make LSD, but refuse to because they don't want to get in trouble.

And, people have had grand mal seizures (very rare) on acid, and usually occurs around 400+ug dose. These people have no history of seizures or epilepsy, so it has been said LSD must lower the seizure thresh hold. The thing is the seizures always wear off within a few minutes so it's not really anything to worry about. If a seizure goes over 5 minutes then you need to get medical help. I'm thinking I will take one blotter this time, then in a year, do it again with two blotters. The only reason I don't want to take two is incase I have a bad trip and because I am inexpereinced.
