I want to learn to Macrame (SP?) Does anyone know of any really good books out there that I might be able to use?

also, what about some fun ideas for stuff to make out of hemp? Necklaces and the like are getting boring.

    thanks!

you could make sweet hemp bags and stuff, i'd love to do that. I'm sure if you go check in a thrift store, in the books/magazine section, they have tons of macrame books and instructional magazines. I want to learn it really bad, but im horrible at following knots by just looking at pictures in a book

Fire Mountain Gems has some great inexpensive books on macrame and friendship braclets. Also your local library should have books on the subject also. :)

Or you could search amazon.. then look at their used books.. most of them would be really really cheap... Or go to about.com and search there... theres alot of useful stuff on about.com

I bought a lot of pattern books on ebay for stuff like plant hangers and tables and wall decorations. Larger and more complicated than necklaces but really not that hard. In the 70's I made a baby swing for my daughter out of macreme. Wish I still had it. There are only a handful of knots and you can make anything.
