We're going to have a week of really hot weather here in the UK and then probably some more. I could get a great tan if I wanted. I used to be a tanning freak and let's face it most white people look better with a tan. I know I do. But my attitude has changed and I just can't be bothered anymore. And it can be dangerous what with skin cancer. I'm less vain than I used to be so that figures. Are you into tanning or do you give it a miss these days? What do you think of the preponderance of tanned people in the media and modelling industry?
I'm into tanning sensibly. Here in the Netherlands its great weather to get a tan on for weeks already! This week will probably take the cake temperature wise. I doubt it will be over after that. There's a serious dry spell here.
We've had a great Summer here too and I have picked up some colour from just mooching around. I'm just not into roasting it like a lobster anymore.
Part of my morning routine is to put on a layer of all day tanning cream, to all the bits likely to be exposed..not in winter of course lol, but in this weather, you can't be too careful..
Everyone keeps telling me there's no such thing as an all day tanning cream (that works ). If you're in the sun for extended periods of time you need to reapply... I just like legs a lot. I noticed I can be just as fond of pasty pale women legs as nicely tanned. Same with a lot of cases of cellulite (its really not that bad most of the time! ). Female legs and most clothing styles that show them of are well... the bees knees! I don't like pale men legs btw. I find it hard to even be indifferent about them. But men usually don't stop at just not getting a tan on them. They look ugly, flaky or just plain dead. Or they wear the wrong socks and/or shorts with them (less or no style)
If your deliberately sun bathing yes, reapply, but for a normal day, in and out of the sun, all day tanning creams are fine
My skin is meant for the Scottish highlands but here I reside in this sunny swamp. I prefer being pale but a little color is unavoidable in the summer. I wear sunscreen on my face religiously, but dont really bother anywhere else unless i'm out in the sun longer than 45 minutes or so. With the result being that my arms are much darker than my face. And my legs just dont tan at all so they're always pale no matter what
I can tan. I have no story explaining it, or how or when it happens, but I assure you, it can and does. I never wear sunscreen. A handful of times in my life have I regretted it.
i'm outside all the time, so it's bound to happen. i do try to wear a light sunscreen the first couple times i'm out each summer to try and get a base tan rather than a hideous burn.
I tan well and easily, and I love the sun. I do try and wear a light sunblock after 30 minutes outside or so; and I wear one on my face most every day. The struggle to balance that sun kissed glow with the risk of skin cancer and premature aging is real.
Don't do it. Tanning is skin cells under stress from harmful UV rays. There's nothing healthy about a tan.
I get plenty of sun in the summertime. I'm usually outdoors a lot. And from time to time i like to relax and sunbath. When i was living south, i had a year round tan. And would get really dark in the summers.
No melanin deficiency here, my skin is and remains a perfect golden brown year round I find it ironic that the darker your skin, the easier you tan.
