Well i just need to wait another week or 2 so i can pass a drug test and find out if they are gonna be cool with dreads (my friends the manager and im not sure if he knows im doing it since i keep my hair covered up when im out). My hair has just started locking up a month or so ago so im not about to stop now.

sounds awesome man...sandwich places are great for stoners haha. ive only had a few different jobs but ive never had to take a drug test and hopefully i wont get a job that does require one. my old job was joking around with me one time saying i needed to take one after i put a note up next to the time clock that announced that friday would be "non-casual" friday. i worked in like a factory type thing that made eye glass lenses and it was messy so everyone always wore shitty clothes, well i was tired of it and on non casual friday i wore a suit jacket and a few other people dressed up...one kid wore a tux jacket with the tails and a bowtie...it was a funny day

Congrats on getting a job! I'm sure you'll pass your drug test and be able to do something with your dreads. Maybe you can wear one of those hair nets or something haha. Anyways congrats and make that moneyyy

sandwich places are great i used to work at a similar place called w.g. grinders. I think its only an ohio chain with maybe one or two stores in PA and IN.

I just got shit luck with the drug testing, this location is part of the college campus and they just made it mandatory for all new employees to take one

fuck it then, just wait untill you turn legal and work at the movies. Sitting in box giving people tickets sounds real chill or just holding the trash bag while people exit the theater. Enjoy your free time while it lasts.

has anyone else noticed the lack of work ethic kids have these days? It's rather sickening.. back in the day high school kids were some of your best workers because they were always needing money to buy shit.. and now.. most of them are for shit... and even kids not in high school... act like that they should be paid just because they are there... we just had one girl that had a kid.. pull a no-show and tried to say she was arrested so the manager told her to bring in a police report.. she never called back.. wtf.. you have a kid!!

I can't believe Quiznos has drug testing. That's nuts.

When I was in High School, I used to work a movie theaters. It was great, I would work one night during the week and two days on the weekend. Free movies. It was great. Hell, I still have like 100 movie posters just sitting around.

Yes- but this doesn't apply to all young people. One of the best all-around co-workers I've worked with happened to be a 17 year old.

In general I think it's cultural... most believe they are entitled not only to a job but a fast track to an easy high paying job- that it is somehow our privilege to be working with them. The good thing about the economic mess is that it may tend to correct that by forcing a level of need that people haven't felt in decades. Value the ability to pay bills and they will value the job and actually go to some effort to keep it.
