Gettin my tonsoles out...

hey guys...last week i got tonsolitis (however you spell that shit)..and i missed like a week of school cuz my tonsoles were like damn golfballs...and when i went to the doctor he immediatley said "Your gunna have to get them taken out"...anyone here ever have their tonsoles taken out?...does it hurt like fuck?...just curious...i know it doesnt have to do with mj...but you guys are all cool as hell so i didnt think it'd be that big of a deal...i get them out in november...

 

Hurts when you swallow for about two days - not too big a deal - and you get all the ice cream you want

 

haha see...i knew someone would say that...ive asked about it around my school or w/e just asking my friends and they always say..yea but you get ice cream and popsicles! haha..thanks man..at least i can look forward to the ice cream and when i do ill think of my good friend hippypaul! lol

it doesnt hurt for only two days i remeber i couldnt do anything with any friends or go any where for 2 weeks... i fetl good after about 8-10 days but the doc said i couldnt it sucked ass to get them out but you will miss some school so its worth it and you defiently wont be able to toke for a little while

 

Well as I remember it was only about 2 days - but these other folks have had theirs done more recently so they may be right

 

I was 18 when i got mine ripped out - not very nice, the drugs after are pretty cool though. It will hurt for a week or so quite bad - but after that it goes away quite quickly. Its like a bad case of tonsilitus (cant spell it either)

its not that bad really - just make sure you have loads of dvd's, videos, magazines etc. cause its quite boring in bed for a week after!!!!!

you wont be able to smoke for a while, swallowing hurts so breathing smoke kill's. but then your first spliff after not having one for bit will be nice. And when you go into hospital you get your own room cause of the risk of infection so thats a bonus. good luck xXx

 

i got mine taken out twice! it wasnt bad either time, just have a lot of cold stuff as soon as you can after the surgery, so it doesnt hurt as much and swell up later.

I got mine out in the fourth grade and it hurt for a long time but that was probably because of age.

 

I never knew they could grow back, why have them out if they are gonna grow back!! i hope mine dont i will pull the feckers out myself and be really pissed of.

 

From an EENT site - I would not sweat the regrowth

Because the tonsils are not 100% removed, the potential exists that the tonsils may regrow and need to be removed or that they may become infected. However, the risk of regrowth does not appear to be significant.

According to a presentation at a May 2003 national meeting of ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialists, the incidence of regrowth was 0.56% in 892 patients who underwent a powered intracapsular tonsillectomy.

i got mine out when i was young, i dont rememner it hurting but my brother ate all my banana popsicles.
