Samsung Heir Gets Out of Jail Amidst Pressure From US for Chip Fab

This is a bit of the political side of the democrats most Americans never know exists. Korea is a tiny country, and part of the reason the US does so much business with them is because they are corrupt, and our kind of people. In God We Trust, on hundred dollar bills. The trade embargo with China has made tiny Korea everyone's darling for chips, and the US government pressing them to release mastermind criminals of the industry from prison, is a great way to stomp on the Chinese. Its the kind of thing the international conglomerates approve of, and helps improve the price of stocks across the industry.

Sadly, the entire industry is being automated, so it is corrupt assholes like these that will be running an automated industry.

Big tech has always been corrupt and unethical.
I bet that if we trace down the manufacture of our phones there is a fair chance that some part was made with slave labour.

Communism, by its very nature, is a desperate solution for a very real problem.
Emphasis on desperate though. It doesn't really erease the power dynamics as much as shift the power balance from one minority to another.

It's worth to check the works of Svetlana Alexievich. She makes constructive criticism of communism without descending into mindless capitalism worship.
