Gerry Marsden retires

Great liverpool entertainer announced he is to retire.. aged 76.

I seen him a few times, he was a great entertainer and singer.

Don't think he did Ged, but I guess playing in clubs when smoking was allowed has to have some effect.. you ever been the Cavern? Back in the smoking days, you couldn't see the barman for smoke lol

 

No I've never been to the Cavern. Never been to Liverpool actually. I keep meaning to go. Definitely on my New Year list to do.

Well I'm much more proactive about getting out and doing stuff these days so yes I will.

 

The Cavern is a must to visit Ged.. good beer too. Lol

 

The re-built Cavern did have a particular aromatic essence the last couple of times I went there.

Just seen this Post about Gerry. I saw him a couple of times in the 80's he was; in the old fashioned manner/phrase - an entertainer.
And after performances. 'hung about' for a chat - seemed like a nice bloke - Retirement is Well-deserved
