These 3 poems were written in the distance of the Valhalla Mt range in B.C during an apprenticeship I was doing in the spring. I would like to thank the family and land that inspired them. Also to the cedar tree. Enjoy!! Standingdeer Words are sometimes like the wind A stream is running through our hearts A mountain is commiting itself to be a home To something in my spirit that is unknown I will soon run onto the road All catch the ravens back to the coast Maybe there will be a light on waiting for me In the eyes of the ones I love Beckoning will be my flute come the early morn When the sun will flood the earth with birth Awakening once more Again I will play amongst the stars Awaiting my seven sisiters Forgetting what worries once where As I dive back into my mothers arms Blessed... .................................................................................... I stare across the valley That stretches through out the fine lines of my soul I am confronted by a river that drags and creases every inch of my strength I mention the name wind and a storm carries my house away Inside I feel the soul perched like a bird in adornment of its world Can you see with your eyes closed? Yes For your worlds are created by the essence of imagination Like a child runs with the wolves ................................................................................... The bear has reminded me and I tell you its words.... Open and become There is abundance when the dance begins Moving in unison to the great drum, Earth mothers heart beat To be awake is to open the eyes and SEE To be utilized as a tool for the hands of light To intensify the worth of the self and the power of the heart let it be so let it be...... The essence of my heart is with you all..
Standingdeer I wanted to write you, but what shall I tell about beauty resounding within, and without words … so I be still. Thank you for sharing your poems
