This thread is dedicated to one of my favorite social types in the world: the geek/nerd. Before you say 'hey heywood, who are you to tell us how people are, everything is subjective and I'm a genius for pointing that out', please be sure to bear one thing in mind-- and that is that everyone already knows this and nothing shows how uncreative you are more than the old 'it's all subjective' line... therefore you suck. So here is a list of things that I like about them: 1. They often place little value on things like style/personal appearance/etc. and instead focus on stuff that's actually important like how smart you are, and if you're willing to play video games with them. 2. They tend not to drink/smoke/take pills so much, and always seem happy just being alive. 3. They may notice the things about you that are less than perfect, but it never seems to bother them... and I never get the impression that they're going to use them for evil like others do... and I mean this even in a post-high school, post-uni sort of way. 4. Their own lack of social skills means they don't have so many definite boundaries/borders.. and there is no complex set of guidelines for them. Surprisingly, they're almost never concerned with what other people think of them, and so you can always feel 100 percent relaxed around them. 5. Nerds in love-- is there anything more adorable? That's it for now. Feel free to add to the list!
Yeah I am probly a geek not really proud of it. I don't fit this either lol. I do like to play video games and smoke weed.
i dont like conspicuos consumption. geeks create loads of waste buying every incrementally better new piece of technology. that being said, they are nice to be around
I guess I'm a geek to some degree, since I play video games a lot and I'm into anthropology and biology. I try not to create loads of waste, though. I think the most modern piece of technology I have is a PlayStation 2, and I still use my old Nintendo 64.
I despise any knd of computer/video game.I'd much rather harrass people on here or harrass my step-sons for wasting their lives being nerds playing games
Iam finding me. Iam my own classification. Iam just a human and i do my own human things. Some humans i dont agree with and others i do. TO THE HUMANS! :cheers2:
Hell yeah dude, Video games are really fun. My nephew got the Ps3 and it was in my house for like a week and holy crapola the graphics were intense. I played Infamous and the new call of duty. Really good stuff.
I'm often called a geek/nerd, I'm proud of it and I feel it applies. i love computers. I use Linux. I play Gene Pool for fun. I play video games obsessively. I go to the library daily. I'm a movie geek.
i'm a geek... i spent nearly all my childhood playing superviolent video games... then i spent my adolescence smoking weed and playing video games. now i'm in my early adulthood and i've sacrificed smoking weed and playing videogames so i can concentrate on going to school, to get a degree in computer graphics, so i can make video games(and movies). proud.
If that's a nerd I'm a nerd. But then again I've always liked games, not caring about appearance, goofing around, and discussing things that seem to hold a value that isn't temporary. It's rather a shame that these sorts of qualities would become apart of a stereotype with usual negative connotations.
Dude the libary is the most peaceful place on earth, that and guitar center. My nephew just bought Call of Duty 4 modern warfare, the used version which i actually traded in with him like way back in novmeber. Iam hooked. lol
I feel the need to say that a geek is usually a technically inclined person who sets store by brains, smokes weed, and is less than concerned with foolish drama. A nerd is a geek, but with no social skills whatsoever. Or that's what they've always meant to me. And I'm a geek. And maybe a bit nerdy.
Yea "nerds and geeks" are great people...I don't know why people look down on them...they make the most money in life and they're the most successful.
