It is a pic of the Adirondack mts. I grew up in upstate NY and spent most my teenage yrs camping fishing and hiking in those mts. Some of the most beautiful untouched scenery I have ever witnessed. But I could be biased lol.
I am near the Catskills here on the Hudson River almost....Dutchess County....and yes, New york state is some of the most beautiful country in the US.....no wonder your avatar looked familiar....
St. Lawrence County. A little bit north of you. Lovely State, although the winters were/are long and cold. I remember my dad defrosting the water pipes with an electric heater. The best time I loved was after a nice freezing rain storm, the silence and tranquility, ice hanging from the Maple trees and with the added crunch under your feet, I should say under my snow boots lol. We are in Perth, Western Aust. It is a beautiful Country. My favorite area is the southwest region, you may have heard of Margret River, known for its' wine and surfing. The whole area is full of Wineries, literally and farms. It is kinda of like driving through the Adirondack Mts., lots of small towns, usually quiet and slow during winter but come summer everyone is there. Then if you drive further down the state you come to areas like Walpole, where they have these Karri tree forests. They are a kinda smaller version of a redwood, you can still drive a car through the trunks but not a bus lol http://http://www.valleyofthegiants.com.au/ Not much in the way of mountains but long shrubby hills. Now if you go north of Perth you have 1000 kms of nothing, literally nothing but scrub and kangaroos. Then a tourist area in Exmouth, where we want to go to swim with the whale sharks lol another 1000kms you come to the Kimberly and Bungle Bungle ranges. No words to describe, just natural beauty at its' finest Don't know much on the east side, never have been but Queensland is my destination, just something about the area there. Check out Nimbin in New South Wales :smoking: kinda of on the border Not much of an interior :tumbleweed: but the outer edges are fantastic.
Sounds beautiful. I don't know much about Australia besides from what I have seen in movies and things....beaches...shrimp on the barbie.....etc......maybe some day you can share photos here of Australia.....

I remember hearing that the first time on Crocodile Dundee then there was the Men at Work song "Living in the land down under" STAY AWAY FROM VEGEMITE lol taste like a cats butt (so i have been told by my former cat, through meditation that is, cause it is impossible to understand what a cat meows) haha When I first arrived here a cabbie yelled out the window "f*** off you bloody sheila" to this day I have no idea what he meant, I only found out that Sheila is a female so i assume she pissed him off lol I would like that, I do want to go back to NY. LOL Saw my dentist today....He said you back cuz you missed me?...problem upper tooth....took 6 visits to try to fix last year and the year before.....so it is all gone now...and will get an implant...damn thing hurt for two years, so hallalelujah....things are looking up.....helps to be my dentist's favorite patient in the whole wide wolrd, too.....
