I was watching Primetime the other night. And they told this messed up story about this crazy young straight dude (he actually believed he was a genius) that had shot and stabbed a gay dude to death. And how he'd tried pulling the classic Gay Panic excuse during the trial. But luckily the judge and jury didn't buy it. Especially since the crazy dude had been bragging to his friends (before he was arrested) about how he had gotten away with murder cuz he was too sharp and clever to get caught. So I just don't get it. I mean, first of all, if you are a straight dude, and some queer dude hits on you, is it asking too much just to say no thanks, and not go so far as to actually shoot the dude's head off over it? And then try to justify what you did by saying it was a case of Gay Panic? As if that makes it all okay or something? WTF?

I mean, I am sure lots of queer dudes (and lesbians) get hit on by straight folks sometimes. So do you ever hear about them murdering another person just because of Straight Panic? And would that make it okay? It just sounds like a major cop out to me. A sad attempt at literally getting away with murder. BTW, this same thing happened with the two crazy dudes that tortured and killed Matthew Shepard (the gay dude they tied to a fence) a few years back. Yeah, they tried to say it was just a case of good old gay panic. Except they'd made the mistake of robbing the poor dude (even took his shoes!), and bragging about it to their friends. Which is how they got arrested. So what's up with all this gay panic stuff? Are there actually still some straight dudes out there that think it is cool to kill another dude if he hits on you? And doesn't it take a bigger man to simply say: No thanks. And walk away from the offer. And just be flattered that somebody found you that attractive. Even if it turned out to be the wrong sex?

    Peace,

    PD

Damn, that is so messed up. I just don't get it. I mean, is it all that hard just to say: No thanks? Why go so far as to shoot or stab somebody over something like that? There must be something a lot deeper goin' on in those so-called straight dudes heads: Maybe they freak out like that cuz they are secretly attracted to other dudes? Thanks for checking this one out. I was starting to think nobody was gonna comment on this one! LOL.

Yeah, I'm glad the jury didn't buy it too. Especially since the dude actually went home with the gay dude (after he met him in a club), had sex with him, and then shot and stabbed the dude to death the following morning. Then he was running around town (for a way long time) bragging to all his friends about how he was such a genius that he could murder somebody, and never get caught. And that's how he finally ended up becoming a suspect. If he'd kept his big mouth shut, he'd never have been caught. Yeah, he's a totally clever guy, huh? Thanks for your comment.

Not as far as I know. I saw it on PrimeTime. And the gay dude didn't have on any women's clothes or anything. They just met each other at a club. And went back to the gay dude's place, and had sex. I guess this sorta thing happens a lot, huh? I didn't hear anything about the story you just mentioned.

    Peace,

    PD
