Gay Community Group Formation!

I don't think I really understand the purpose of creating a "gay group". Isn't the forum enough?

 

I would be delighted to be group leader, but maybe we should ask everyone else who is interested if they would like me to be.
will this group exist as well as the forums or instead of?

OK skip tell me if i'm wrong.

it would basically be a forum that members would have to apply to join and they would apply through the person running it.
it can be set invisable so the members are the only people that will see it or visuble so it can be seen but non members can't post in it.
and in this case it would serve as a protective group just for members of the gay community, so it would mean no homophobia and no spam and a sace where people can become friends

LGBT

I agree with Mushie - what would the point of such a community be if we have a perfectly acceptable one here already?

One thing - I disagree that Samhain should become the leader. He already acts as the leader in this forum and it would be nice to see if others could shine as leaders. I'm sure there are plenty of candidates and feel that a democracy is necessary.

Does anyone agree? Should we have people elect themselves for group leader and then vote?

thats fine with me, if people would rather there be another group leader you can nominate each other.
And I am happy to stand for group leader if skip and the others would like it too, what ever everyone wants

I have to say I don't really understand this resistance to try out new things, I have seen this often on here.
I would understand it more if Skip was saying it would be instead of the forums, but its sounds like he's offering us all something exciting to build on what we have here and the reactions a bit flat to say the least.
change is new and exciting, internet forums should be always developing otherwise they'll stagnate- wheres everyones sense of adventure?

I had similar thoughts before that I mentioned to Sam about a place that seems to be what I was thinking of so good luck with that and I think it's a great idea.

I have read your original post. It says there would be great new features. You list some of these features as "a group page where members can contribute articles, reviews and other types of content. But since only members can contribute you must join up if you want to join in the fun!"

I kind of thought that's what this forum was already doing, besides the fact of it being exclusive and only allowing members.

If you want people to stand behind you and show enthusiasm it would help if there was more details about what you're planning on doing.

I'm totally for adding something else to the gay community on this website, I'm just curios as to what it all entails. Sorry to pry.

 

I think its a grand idea. Especially since the forums aren't being replaced with it. LGBT is a good name, Sam. Pretty much covers it all.
