I hope no one is offended by this question.

I am curious if anyone has an opinion on what might be a "gateway" opiate for an opiate virgin?

I really don't feel comfortable with the whole "gateway" theory, as in pot will lead to heroin, etc... However, some people might want to start at the bottom wrung of the ladder.

I have my own personal opinions from my personal experiences.

I am curious to hear from others regarding this.

i started with percs (just popping them, i have never to this day snorted one)

now, my drug of choice is H (not injecting, just snorting)

for the record, percocet and oxycontin are the same. percs just have apap and are a lower dose of oxycodone while oxycontin has no apap and are a higher dose.

Thanks everyone. That's what I thought. Supposedly smoking opium is a blissful experience. It's a lot easier to score a roxy. Strange world we live in.

I have to agree with everyone and say that Vicodin was definitely my "gateway" opiate. I started popping Lortab or Percoset about once a month or so when I was 16 and by the time I was 19 I had a 300 to 500mg habit a day of Oxycontin. I also used Dilaudid, heroin, and morphine and became a needle junkie. Be careful with this shit, man. It will take over you if you do not watch yourself.

almost all of my early opiate use was hydrocodone. though i think the concept of gateway drugs is ridiculous. NEWS FLASH: EVERY DRUG IS A GATEWAY DRUG

For most people it's either vicodin or percocet. I started with morphine sulphate and moved onto oxy.

I got my wisdom teeth out in high school and was prescribed percocet. I had never had them or any other opiate before. I didn't even know what opiates were. I remember popping a perc, drinking a beer and feeling like I owned the world. I called an extremely hot girl who I was friends with but never thought I had an actual shot at, and I was witty, funny and confident. I asked her to homecoming and she said yes. I was hopelessly hooked on percs after that, but being an uptight white boy from the suburbs, it took me years and years to find a reliable street source.
