browsing the marijuana forum i can't help but notice that theres not many poms....is it me or is smoking weed not as big a deal in england as in the u.s?
I think it's just because of the population difference. Many people in US haven't even considered weed
spose...but i never see any u.k people on there, its all americans talking about the hundreds of stoners in there schools...
There's a lot of stoner-free schools though, but I 'spose that in highshool to college age kids there is a lot of smoking. This forums site isn't the best place to look for a fair mix of people. Look at the abscence of minorities and republicans in here.
"minorities" ha ha ha ha, i mean yeah i guess your right, still it sounds like a bigger deal in the us of a
I guess a lot of us mainly talk about things like that in the UK forum instead. Also if you've been on these forums for years, there's only so much you can say about smoking pot....
Maybe the uk potheads are too stoned to post.... But I agree there's only so much to be said about it.
I smoke, but rarely post in that forum, I actually find that forum annoying, for the most part it's a bunch of 15/16 year olds posting to let everyone know their stoned.
I just have better things to talk and think about than pot to be honest....Same reason I don't post about beer or ciggies much...Unless I am giving up
Who are you calling poms? Actually did you know that the origin of 'POM' was as an abbreviation of "prisoner of her majesty"? The same as an 'WOP' was an abbreviation or "Without Papers"?
I don't see that he's been racist. If anything his signature is anti-racist, and he's made several anti-racist comments. OK, so there's no such place of Rhodesia, only Zimbabwe, but Mugabe is a bastard. Of course, his picture of Hanson was in terribly bad taste, but we can't hold that against him forever
Thanks man its true i'm not at all racist. wow someone who knows what rhodesia is, much respect! I'll be dignified and ignore the Hanson comment
You used the term 'pom', which is a derogatory phrase used against the English. In my opinion that is racist. If you want racism to be colour blind then you have to live by your own principles. Maybe I'm misinterpreting you, and if I am then please accept my apologies, however your signature suggests to me that Rhodesia as it was, was a good thing. I'm not saying that the current state of affairs in Zimbabwe are good, but there is history to every situation.
Aussies use the term pom all the time, quite affectionately, in a simillar way we might use Yank. I just think of apples when people call me a pom. Having been called a wog and a ****** before, I can say that being called a pom is really rather nice. Might have some xenophobic roots, but I don't take it as racist....
