He's actually really huge in the K-pop scene, and the story goes this song was uploaded on tube for his Korean fans....... and well somebody else seen it and here we are.

Yes, but it's not only a parody of pop-songs, it's a criticism of mindless consumerism and decadence - directed more specifically at a certain class of Seoul mallrats who literally subsist on Ramen noodles, just so they can afford to buy a $10 cup of coffee at a Gangnam coffee shop in order to project the illusion of affluence. It's briliant that this song has caught on - fuck heads everywhere absolutely clueless that this guy is actually making sport of exactly the kind of people who would go fucking nuts over this song. (side note: PSY attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston.) I have a lot of respect for this guy.
