yet another thing aiden does is he sticks his fingers down his throat and gags himself. I immediatly take his hand out of his mouth and tell him not to do that and yet he keeps on doing it so i stopped stopping him and just let him gag himself. I dont know what to do he keeps on gagging himself no matter what i say or do how can i get him to stop doing this???

Haha..sorry I just think it's kinda cute! he probably keeps doing it for the shock value, because it is something new he learned to do~ Maybe if he makes himself sick he won't wanna do it anymore! :)

Jimmy does this! He even makes himself vomit on occasion! It's really unerving but, I don't think it's a problem. I think he does it just coz he can!

Yeah, my sisters did it too. I think its just a new discovery thing and they grow past it.

He's probably just seeing what happens when he sticks his hands down his throat.

It may depend on your reaction. The mother of my son's kid just freaks with OH MY GOD!OHMYGOD!as if someone's finger has been cut off, when in fact the little one has maybe fallen or something else that kids do every day. Then the little one cries and gets shook up.When she's with my son and/or myself, all it takes is a little kiss on the offended part and "you're OK".Works every time. He'll stop when no one reacts.

my little skylie went through that too. it really bugged me out, so i'd tell her not to do it, but try not react too much, bc like all kids they feed off big reactions! it was a quick phase, i cant remember the last time she didi it. smiles!

my youngest child did that too. sometimes still does, like last week when she was cutting molars. What really upset me (but I still knew not to freak out or she'd keep doing it just for the reaction), was when she gagged herself until she puked a little, and then played with her vomit like it was the coolest stuff she'd ever seen.... :& She was in the high chair, so I just put her in the tub and DH hosed the chair off outside.

LOL! Don't let it freak you out. A LOT of babies do this. "HEY, look what I make, A TOY!" Sage would get so upset when I would clean up her "play puke' that she would try to do it again. We would make jokes about a "bulimic baby." Babies have NO "sense of the Icky." As I always say. Spitting up really doesn't bother most babies, so playing in it is just a "free home made" toy. Blech. They stop this after a while.

She isn't doing this for attention, so ignoring her won't make a difference. :)
