I've read posts where people take Gabapentin for withdrawal symptoms with good results. I have many 100 mg pills. Can anyone tell me how many I'd need to take per dose, per day to ease my w/d's? I'm on a pretty heavy hydro habit, up to 20 10mg/day. Thanks.

I think the consensus seems to be somewhere above 2000mg at a time to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. Use with caution as it's liable to cause seizures.

When I've used it for that purpose I've taken a minimum of 2800-3200mg per day. And it works very well for wd's. And 20 10mg Hydrocodone would put you at 6500mg of Acetominophen per day, assuming they're 10/325's. That's not good for your liver.

What dosage gabapentin do you have? I always feel kinda weird popping 5-6 300mg gabapentin at once.

Oh man this stuff is a lifesaver. Today was my first day sober after a weeklong dope binge. I woke up feeling like shit and have taken 1500mg gabapentin and .75 mg clonazepam so far over the course of a day. I feel great relatively speaking. The anxiety and depression went away. The restlessness went away. In the afternoon I had some pretty bad RLS, leg pain but I upped the dose and it went away. If you've kicked going cold turkey after binging I'm sure you know the hell withdrawal can be. I don't think I would do dope if I didn't have this on hand. I can't believe this isn't commonly known as a withdrawal cure yet.

Mine are the 400mg capsules. I normally take 1200mg per day for diabetic neuropathy. My tolerance is higher than it used to be. Earlier this month when my Hydro script ran out early I was taking Gabapentin not only for wd's, but to catch a buzz. So I was averaging 4200-5000mg per day for over a week. It's a really spacey buzz, but once you get used to it, it's not bad. At those doses it not only works for neuropathy, but pain in general. I got a little crazy with it one night though and went over 7000mg. I woke up in the night with terrible cramps in my calf muscles, so I won't be doing that again.

Yeah I catch some kind of buzz from it too. Not sure how to describe it. I feel kinda drunk and wiggly. I've got 300mg capsules.

It's a really far-out and spacey kind of a buzz. I really get into listening to music, and my appetite goes through the roof, lol. You feel more in touch with people too. I've heard it described as kind of like a mild ecstasy buzz, but I wouldn't know because I've never done that. I noticed early on a pretty hefty increase in urination, so I drink a lot of water when I do it. But at the same time it can be difficult to urinate. I guess it's caused by the kidneys having to deal with several grams of a drug. So it's probably a good idea to drink plenty of water with it.

You guys are great in responding. I tried 1000 mgs (10 x 100 mg tabs) and it went great. I got a buzz like I'd never had before. Like you all said, kind of a spacey, drunk but not drunk buzz. And the w/d symptoms went away completely. I pee'd a lot though so I'm agreeing it is important to drink lots of fluids. Makes you pee more but keeps you up and on your feet. Thanks for the info.
